HELP - What am I doing wrong - Charging Profiles and Timers

I live in Connecticut and our local utility (Eversource) doesn’t have varable time of day pricing for electricity, but they do offer cash rebates if I avoid charging from 3 pm and 9 pm daily. I basically want to charge directly to 80% outside those hours. I've done the following to try and set this up for my CPO 22 4S:

• Created a charging profile with minimum charge at 25% and the preferred charging period of 21:00-15:00 (9 pm - 3 pm).
• Created a timer for a 3 pm departure and a target charge of 80%

So let's take my current charging under this scenario. After a short drive, I returned home last night at 8 pm with a 77% SOC. I plugged in and would like it to start charging at 9 pm, until it reaches 80%. Instead, 9 pm comes and goes and I have a 'Charging Pause' notice in the app -- and that it won't start charging until close to 3 pm today, so I achieve the 80% at 3pm.

I just want it to start charging at 9 pm. This was so easy to set up in my Teslas. What am I missing? TIA!

There's really no way to do that because porsche tries to guess when you'll need the 80% by. So if you set your timer to be ready at 7am, the charging won't start until about 6:30am if you're already at 77%.

You can make it work with a bigger margin.
I have a preferred charging time between 10pm and 7am.
Come back home with 30%, it will start to charge during the night to arrive close to 80% at 7 am and then charge again to arrive at 80% at your departure time 3pm

I noticed the same behaviour but what's the difference? Arguably, Tesla's preference for charging from the opening of the charging window is worse for the battery. The theory says that you want your battery 100% charged for the shortest possible time. Hence why Porsche use the end of the charging window. The fact that you only want 80% does not change the equation.

PS: I believe the Porsche charging process actually briefly starts at the opening of the charging window to figure out what charging current is available and what response returns from the battery. Once the BMS feels confident that it can time the other end of the window, the process then pauses.
