How bad is this damge?

Hi,
Yesterday while driving at over 60 mph, I came across a large rock on the road that I couldn’t avoid. I ended up running right over it with the center of the car. After taking photos of the underside, I found out the damage looks quite severe. Unfortunately, it’s a holiday period where I live, so I can’t even take it to the Porsche center right now. I’m feeling pretty down about it.
today It's charging perfectly fine, and there are no warning lights on.

Oh thank you so much for the reply. So, that torn and shredded metal part is the underframe located directly beneath the battery? In other words, battery housing is ruptured , and then exposed the battery?

It’s different damage but discusses the cost of repairing the panel that covers the battery. It’s expensive.

That padded material where the damage is, isn't what is covering the battery.
What you are seeing are probably mountingpoints of the front drive-motor (a guess), nothing battery-related.

for reference, here they walk under the taycan, going to the front of the car:
at 13:40 you can have good look at the torx screw that you see through the hole.

The yellowy brown section you can just see in the photos behind the damage panel is what you need to look at.

If that's OK, you should be OK (other than repair costs if you want to repair it).

Looks like just the sacrificail panel got damaged (that’s what it’s there for). I have the same thing although mine just has a crack in the panel toward the front of the car. They wanted to remove inspect and replace for about $900 I declined as I know when the damage occurred and have driven over 5000 miles since then so the figured the odds of any damage underneath are small. Additionally, it’s a “sacrificial” panel, meant to do just what it did, not to look good, so no reason to repair (unless you are concerned about the chances of striking the area again exactly in the same spot

The mounting bracket is replaceable; you can see one of the two mounting screws in your pics. Bracket is <20 quid. There is a plastic rivet further back that is a PITA to remove without snapping it; the rest is held on with T25 Torx screws. If you have level control I'd wager you can remove it without having to have the car on a ramp.

The undertray is large floppy fabric panel - no armour to it - so it can rip/tear fairly easily. The under-ride guard/battery protection plate is very sturdy and can take quite a hit before needing remedial action - scuffs and scratches are OK; even a missing mounting screw is allowed on the check document; cracks can also be repaired in the later Kevlar looking panel of the 2025 spec battery - which it looks like you have? Issues come if there is deformation or holes in the metal plate on the earlier cars in prescribed areas (you are allowed more leeway where the rear seat passengers feet go). You could do a video from the side of the car; as long as you can't see any depressions or cracks it'll likely be fine.

It looks like you hit this part of the front suspension frame, an alu bracket snapped off.
Nothing serious though.
Only the bracket needs to be replaced (and some padding repair of course).

Yes, it is as you said! I was informed that the battery was spared fortunately and that the iron plate (subframe of the suspension) should be replaced. However, the estimated repair cost is around $5000. The subframe plate alone is said to cost over $2500. Well I'm glad that The insurance company will pay for the repair, and battery is not affected.

The porsche center guy says it is subframe, not sacrificial panel. And the subframe plate alone is said to cost over $2500. I guess Taycan's frame parts are way more expensive than 911's...

Sorry for the late response! I really appreciate your kind advice. By the way that floppy fabric panel costs like $700. What a ripoff..

Yeah, these things happen.
I couldn't see more of the frame in your pics so maybe there was more damage.
I guess it's mostly precaution though cuz it's a pretty sturdy crossmember but anyway, it's going to be fixed.
