Hello all,

We are about to place an order for a 2025 Cross Turismo.

The build code is - PS7LC4A5

Small background as we know, the spec if overkill however, we ar planning to keep the car for a while and so specing the car to what we really want, which is worth the money over the years of ownership. Also, due to purchasing in a company, we actually benefit if the car depreciates aggressively, so we are not fussed about that either, given our long-term plan with the car.

A question we do have is about the ability to negotiate for a discount (always worth asking). I did see another member post, but I am interested in the UK and whether there have been any changes in the market since then.

But before we proceed, given that I have been lurking around this forum for years, I thought it worth asking your opinions and any tips you might have on the spec and glaring omissions.

I appreciate all your guys' help and days of interesting reads on the forum, and I look forward to contributing more in the future.

All the best,
Jonathan

Lose the US flag from your profile!!

Looks very nice. I couldn't see the option, but make sure you've ticked folding wing mirrors!

Personally I'm not a fan of the interior gold detailing around the fans, cupholders etc. Not sure if that's just the spec of the 2-tone interior you've chosen? Personal i know.

Don't think i'd spec the panoramic roof again. I've been fortunate thus far, but so many people have had them crack (some multiple times) and i'm not sure they actually add much to the car. Definitely don't want one going pop after it's out of warranty.

The beige seatbelts looks very nice. I'd just query what they'll look like after a few years use...

Nice build. Not necessarily my taste in interior colors, but you should get what you want. Some thoughts on options on functional aspects:
  1. Off Road Design Package - this is a purely esthetic option, at least it was in 2020-2024 Taycans. It actually lowers your maximum clearance by 10mm. So if you like the look and it's worth the money for you, get it. If getting it for functionality, do some deeper research.
  2. Night Vision - personally I find it useful, especially when combined with matrix headlight (which you are getting with full functionality in the UK without having to hack them).
  3. You are coming from a Model S. You might miss some power in a 4S. I ended up waiting a while for a Turbo for that reason, did not regret it (actually, I still crave more power on highways).

Awesome spec ! Very close to where i am heading, waiting for the configurator to finally open here.
Would you have taken neodyme CT rims if they were available like in Germany ?
Any reason for not picking the assorted belts in Atacama color ?
Also, for my taste, leaving the standard fabric for the roof instead of race tex changes a lot the ambiance of the interior, it is at eye level. Same for deviating stitching.
Question: dashcam prep ? what's your next move ? aftermarket or there is a tequipment option ?

£50k of options should do the trick. Did you consider going for a Turbo instead, partly subsidised by some of your 4S options coming as standard or at a reduced premium?

That's a lot of options! As you said, if you're going to keep the car for a long time, and it's what you want, then go for it. I have two comments:
1. If you're spending this much, why not add the variable light control (electro-chromatic) roof? I have it in my car and it's both a nice party trick and nice to have control on a sunny day, etc.
2. All four seat headrests and the center console lid is too many Porsche crests, IMO. For me, the front seat headrests is enough. If you want all four, go for it, but ditch the center console lid. Again, Just my opinion.

Drive it in good health!

This is a great spec! Mine would be very similar in a sedan, with Atacama Beige also. I will probably use one of the interior options to cancel out the neodym interior bits because I am on the fence about the color but it looks good either way. Good job picking up all the driver assists and performance options, the ionizer and the badge delete! I’ll also get painted inlays, but the color options are different on different models.

Word of caution about light colored seat belts. I had a beige interior in my Corvette, with two tone seats similar to Atacama/black, and beige seat belts. The seats inevitably get dirty but leather can be cleaned. Seats belts also get dirty from regular use, and I didn’t have much success cleaning them in the Corvette. Hence in my Atacama build, I’m planning to just stick with black seat belts.

My blanket suggestion is that people stick to black or dark colored seat belt colors to keep life simple.

Thanks, all fair points - The roof I think, its in the first few years where the issues arise hopfuly just a bad batch, and we plan on getting as much warranty as possible so hopefully this will be ok. Also In the UK need all the light you can get.

I had a look at the seatbelts on Renlist, and apparently, they are pretty good at resisting grime, but I may need to do some more research and ask the dealer what they see come back. But all helpful tips thanks.

Mirrors not sure if they are on or standard now, but we will have it on our checklist and tell the dealer deffo to want that.

Had the same thoughts on the Off-road package, but I think it does add something, and I'll be honest, the clearance will likely never be needed. CT has plenty for pootling about.

We found the night vision a bit excessive, especially when driving around London and Surrey, where the car will live. We have never really had an issue with an, so massage seats were our compromise promise.

I never really used all the power, switching to a Taycan for the handling in the UK with our speed limits, the extra power will just get me in trouble.

The VLC roof, im sure, is impressive in TX. Unfortunately, in the UK, with our one week of sun, it is just not justifiable. Really glad you like it tho its a amazing feature.

The badges is sothing we though off as well but we saw a Macan with the same and in person it looked good as you can only see one or two at a time. Its not as overwelming as the config makes it look. But thanks for the input we had our doubts as well

We have to worry about the Active Ride and its long-term benefits vs potential issues, as well as the repair expenses. The thought is putting us off getting it. What are people's thoughts on it? I know it is new, so no one truly knows how it will fair in the long run.
