Do fellow J1.2 often (ever ?) see 320 kW on their battery indicator ?

Porsche Taycan J1.2: gimme 320 20250814_183436

In spite of toasty ambient conditions, i am never seeing more than 296-297. Even at much lower SOC (12%, 31degC battery, 281 kW). I tried to precondition by pointing the PCM nav to a (claimed) 300 kW DC charger, but that had no effect. I understand that the brackets on the right indicate the temp zone where >150kW is achievable, but is 40degC or more required to exceed 300 kW ?

If I remember correctly, I did see it. Assume t’s depending on the SoC. battery temperature seems to be in the correct window.
Although I’m not often charging at a fast charger, the current record is 327Kwh (starting at 9% SoC)

On the j1.1, the optimal temperature is 95 degrees to something like 110 F. 32C is still too low. On the j1.1, 32C temp will yield about 200 kw and not the peak 270/250.

Since you're testing charging speeds, one way to "trick" the car into optimal precondition temps is after setting the HPC destination, just keep the car on, parked (idling), it'll get up to temp in about 20-30 minutes without the need to drive.

Congratulations, you have won the Silver award for second-most boring thread. (The Gold award is still held by "Four years in - my best range number yet!"). :)

It's a Porsche. Go and drive it. Hard. Find some great corners. Come back and tell us about the amazing route you found. Let's start talking about driving, not watching the range guess-o-meter!

300 Kw is a ton of power. I was nervous last week at ~200 Kw. It was the first time in 3 years that I had to charge away from home.

My j1.1 charges nice and quick till 50% then throttles down to 100kw - which is so slow.

Really annoying especially if you try and do quick top ups.

Have an Eton that does 150kw from start right up to 80%. So much better

I think Porsche really messed up the charging philosophy

Don't recall seeing anything in the 300's in the predictor but I get over 300 regularly when actually charging, 318kW my personal record. It charges as advertised for me provided you pre-condition and the charger can deliver the power.

Was charging on a long trip yesterday, could hear the 2x wheel arch fans kicking in at full speed from a long way away, sounded like a hovercraft, then getting closer feeling the hot air belting out around the car, some serious cooling going on. Kinda nice having the badly behaved wild child at the charging station
