Lectron Tesla Adapter

I tried it for the first time at a hotel Tesla destination charger and it was stuck in initializing and never worked.

Anyone have this brand? Any tricks? Has it worked? Do I have a defective unit?

I bought the black version a while back and have used it with our Tesla Wall Connector and have had no issues at all. It's worked fine for both the Taycan and our Chevy Volt.

Did you plug the Lectron adaptor into the Tesla plug first before plugging it into the Taycan ?

Before I purchased, I spoke to Lectron Tech Support and they were helpful, so maybe give them a call when you have the chance ?

Were you able to confirm that the destination charger was in fact working with a Tesla staying at the hotel? It would seem to me that the destination charger is the first thing you would want to rule out as an issue.

thanks. I did plug into Tesla plug first and waited 30 seconds and even a minute. Did not work.

Left hotel now, going to go look for another one at some point to make sure it is not a faulty unit.

No teslas around to test. Tesla evse did light up green.

trying another one now that I am back home to make sure it’s not a faulty unit.

Two possibilities for the failure of the adapter come to mind....

1) Was the destination charger a Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector model with Access Control set to Only Tesla? It would not be possible to visually confirm the Access Control setting, but the hotel manager may know if the charger is set up to only charge Teslas.

2) Was Direct Charging set to off in your Taycan? If so, then the charging would not start until the time specified in your Timer and Profile settings.

It is good to know that they could be set to "Only Tesla", did not know that....the hotel people unfortunately knew little to nothing about the destination chargers. "Those things outside" was the extent of it.

No timers, just profile which would have triggered right away.

Going to try to find another one to give it another try. Thank you

I am fairly certain that the Access Control feature is NOT available in the Gen 2 Tesla destination charger, only the Gen 3 version.
