I have driven through this width barrier 100s of times. The problem is not the barrier its bad drivers!
Well done! But I trust you get the point of the original post that the width of the Taycan is bigger that these restrictions at some places!

I avoid the ones in Kenton & Camrose Avenue like a "plague". Horrendous width restrictions which have seen people damage their actual sides of the cars numerous times. Anything less than 7" with 21 inch wheels or larger looking for trouble. Many a times have to do a U Turn in some parts of London but still love London except the horrendous mayor.

the actual width restrictions have been ok with me. The issue has been the restricted kerbs in front and behind the width restrictor. Why do they have to be so long and so high? Ones near ne have metal bracing that has shards pointing inwards.

Its awful. I now take longer routes to avoid them.

I’m only visiting for a couple of weeks so unfamiliar with the roads and where the restrictions are. There’s probably signs telling me beforehand but twice now these restrictions seem to just come from nowhere. On a side note, how does your mayor keep getting re elected? I’ve never heard anyone say anything good about him!

I almost never go to London any more but I attended a dinner in central London last week and, since I lived there in 1969 to 1971, it was an area I'm familiar with. I parked in the Hilton Park Lane car park because it is convenient but when I came to drive home around midnight the Knightsbridge exit from Hyde Park Corner was blocked by resurfacing work. I thought no problem, I'll go up to Marble Arch set off along the north of Hyde Park and let Waze find my route back to the A4. It actually decided to take me on the A40 M40 which was also closed for road works and diverted me via one of these width restrictors where I did kerb a wheel, very lightly luckily. It was most annoying and time wasting.

I hate London now (compared to when I lived there). I certainly wouldn't bother to own a car at all if I lived there (like before). The stupidest car thing in England is that most of the "supercars" crawl around London, where they are totally unsuited, posing.

I guess the mayor is more poular with Londoners than car fans, a bit like Oxford where there are loud complaints about traffic limits but the majority locals like them.

I can imagine why he gets elected but rather not go there.

In the Tesla community (the Model S being just a couple of cm narrower than the Taycan) the most notorious width restrictions were these ones at Marlow Bridge. They are low, so disappear from the driver’s view; also I think they had a set at the exit from the bridge which is especially unhelpful. The council has messed around with the design several times since then, but basically if in a Taycan don’t go anywhere near it.
