Greetings all!

I have spent the last 25 years honoring the E28 that my father gifted me when he upgraded to a newer model. About a decade ago I told myself that I would keep driving this car until there was an electric option that was right for me.

After 350,000 miles, that time has hopefully come. My handle here is a portmanteau of the Japanese "uma" meaning "horse" and the Viola Metallic color of the Taycan I am hoping to receive in a few months.

Much gratitude to all of the posters here - the knowledge I gained from lurking on this forum and Rennlist was absolutely essential in making my decisions on how to spec the build get anywhere remotely in the neighborhood of "informed".

Without you all, I might as well have thrown darts at the configurator.

Just signed for a 2022 Taycan 4S+ with 29000 kms wealthy loaded. Previoulsy 2 times Panamera Turbo owner, it's about time for us to fully switch to EV at home. Wife already took the plunge last year, mine turn now.
The Taycan is a complete different animal from the Panamera. The Taycan's interior can't match high quality assembly & materials from the Panamera. But the Taycan is so agile (at least with the rear-wheel steering), so easy to drive at low speed downtown and so much better suspended that I'm so excited thinking about commuting daily behind the Taycan's wheel. Plus the Taycan has a Supercar body. What a beauty!

Don't forget to buy the Tire & Wheel insurance (both damage & cosmetic repair). Those 21" Mission-E's are prone to curb scrapes (speaking from lot's of experience here, and I'm way better than average at parallel parking).

Hi Everyone

Thanks for accepting me in the group. I have cancelled my new Taycan order last weeks and got a used Taycan 4s delivered today - added Profilm matte ppf. Looks stunning and drives great. Feels like a brand new car. Replacing Audi etron sportback - the Taycan is at another level ( driving,interior, screens).
I have been following the forum in the last few weeks - thanks everybody for the shared info.

Anyway, I’m in Western Mass (01002) to where my used 4CT completed its cross country journey on Friday after starting in Bellevue (from the Infiniti dealer although had been purchased and serviced by the prior owner at the Porsche dealer literally across the street).

So far only local drives but absolutely loving. Had been hoping to combine the best attributes of my wife’s 2023 BMW i4 M50 and my 2022 Audi A6 Allroad (which we will keep for awhile given the state of the CCS1 DCFC network in the Northeast, especially further north of us), and indeed it does along with some impressive Porscheness plus outrageous styling that … well, as my sister-in-law commented when I pulled up to her house today, “This car is too fancy for Amherst and Northampton.” She was smiling when she said it, but still…

Get used to it - you're going to get a lot of positive looks and comments. If you like getting social about it, try sitting in a Starbucks parking lot and people will just drop by to ask about the car .

Yep, and Tanzania was unbelievable. Saw over 30 different animal species, over 40 bird species, some really exotic plants (e.g., Baobab tree, sausage tree, etc.), the Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino, and Cape buffalo), the Ugly 5 (Wildebeest, Warthog, Vulture, Hyena , Maribu Stork), and of course the great wildebeest migration across the Mara river (with vultures and crocodiles downstream to pick up the ones who didn't make it). We even got to see a lion kill, and elephants chasing lions to protect their young. Best part was the people - they're super friendly.

Wow, Tanzania does sound amazing!

Staffer at Firestone for my state inspection today wanted to talk at length about the Taycan. Then some random guy waiting in line complimented me on it as I was leaving.
Although not my kind of thing, the Cross Turismo styling is still knocking me out every time I approach it.

Hi all. Recently registered and ordered a CT4 2 weeks ago. A complete about turn as I’d got a defender on order but talking to a neighbour who just got a Cayman GT4 I just completely changed my mind.

Always been a fan of the taycan and another neighbour got a 4s saloon earlier this year. Absolute beast of a machine.

I debated the 4s over the 4 but decided to add options to the 4.

Greetings from the EU! A humble RWD Taycan, first plunge into the EV space. So far, so good. Was a half-random buy as my order for another (ICE) Porsche got delayed and I decided it was a sign to make a more radical switch. Still have a couple of ICE cars in the garage, but this thing drives regularly and is so much cheaper to maintain, considering the European gas prices.

Spec-wise, went with things I care about - leather, music, HUD, glass roof, etc. All in all, very happy with the build and the car in general. Did a front PPF + ceramic coating all around. Works well as a package.
