The cable is standard since 2022 but not on MY20 / 21 vehicles.

Most public AC EVSEs are untethered (no cable) so you must always carry yours with you.

The cable (Type 2 L3) is standard across Europe.

The cable you are using is the correct one therefore and do not require anything else (cable or connector).

Hiya

Thanks I called Porsche and they said it's not standard ...all I have is the mobile pack which has the plug for home and the industrial connection so I can't use it on an untethered charger.

Just come out of a Tesla so used to a standard plug with the connections either end. So bit confused tbh!
Have emailed my Porsche dealer it's 2024 so let's se what they say

Random!

Which model year (MY) is your car as I think you are being spun a yarn (not unusual from a Porsche dealership)?

I had to pay for it on my MY21 4S and then it was standard on my MY23 GTS ST - so I know they're not being honest here.

If you are not the first owner, not an MY20 / MY21 car then it may not have been optioned or "found" it's way to another person.

This is the standard E-Performance equipment on any Taycan since 2022

and this is the list for MY25 (new model)

Hi it's 2024 plate and was a dealer model so not been pre owned.

dealer are looking into it

I rang Porsche themselves and that's what they said. I have the mobile charging pack and bag but pretty useless at a charging pay - as I found out this morning!

I have told the dealer I have been told it's now standard in the model so let's see if they get me one.

if not I'll call another dealer and ask if they come as standard and kick off ;)

loving the car just need to be able to charge it

can you help me with another question re charge? It's a power performance battery but still showing as only charging to something like 220 or other on website said it will do 304... appreciate I need to drive like miss daisy for that - which is do When I need to do long journeys so I can get home - will this improve as it learns how I drive?
Used the Tesla just giving me 300miles so shocked when it didn't say 304!

Keep pushing - sounds (now) like the dealer has "mislaid" it or donated it elsewhere - should have been picked up as part of the inspection before handover to you.

If you have the Performance Battery (PB) then this is the smaller capacity battery. The alternative is the Performance Battery Plus (PB+) (plus meaning additional range primarily). Most models come with the PB+ as standard apart from the Taycan RWD (base model) and Taycan 4S (saloon) - this changed with the new model but put that aside for now.

Judging by the range you are getting 220 miles is about right for PB+ (yes!) at this time of year - cold ambient temperature is the main culprit to range - and will increase to around 235 miles or slightly higher in the warmer months. Also remember that short journeys will also hit range.

Not clear which model of Taycan you have nor if it is the facelifted model - came out this year and may be on a 24'plate. Can you be more specific -even a picture of the car (front) would clarify?

If it is the Model Year 25 (MY25 - when the facelift appeared) then you will have a bigger capacity battery again - up to 95kW usable (compared to 83.4kW PB+ with the non-facelift models). If it is MY25 then your range should be at least 30 - 40% more than I've quoted.

In any event the range data published (WLTP) is at best a fairy tale and is not achievable so don't expect 300+ miles and 270 - 280 miles is a possibility when conditions permit.

Range typically grows after the first 650 miles (again I don't know how new your car is / how many miles are on it) but it is finite.

The key metric is the consumption (Trip - Total Since value) and to get around 300 miles and assuming PB+ and assuming MY25 then you should be getting around 3.2 miles / kWh (95*3.2=304).

Just to add - the PCM NAV (with Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) active) is pretty spot on for determining how far you will get, when you need to charge and for how long.

I bought my MY23 Taycan in July this year and it came with a type-2 cable. However, the salesman said that new cars no longer come with the cable!

Yeah - confirms what I've always said - Porsche dealerships are full of folk with little or no knowledge and poorly trained in the EV product offerings.

Doesn't anyone look at the 'Standard Specification' of the product before they buy - I'd expect the Sales folk to rely on this as a source!?

What you don't now get in UK / EU is the mobile charger so this is at additional cost for MY25+

Ah, you've got a point here - I guess he was talking about the 240V home/mobile charger. Still, I got both that and the type-2 cable with my car.
