Interesting post. I'll give it a try if I can remember to do it. My normal "parking" mode is to hit park, then shut off, so I've never seen this behavior. Pretty much the same as I do in all of my cars, engage park (or the parking brake) first, then turn off the engine.

Hill hold will work on a slope, but that typically kicks in when the car is in drive.
Mine seems to be turning hold into the parking brake automatically when going from D to P.

I explored the electric park brake settings in the manual and in the car. I thought it may be configurable, but all you seem to be able to do is turn it on or off from the PCM rather than pressing the button. Not sure why that would be of value to anyone. Couldn't find any other options for it.

Just checked my RWD Saloon on my drive and nope. No movement in park.
