IMO the PCM is the perfect size, resolution and love that its integrated into the dash. I can't stand large, intrusive tablets that are floating.

I believe large screens are designed to distract from cheap interiors or to create a cell phone experience over a drivers experience.

Once my initial setting have been completed, I only use Apple CarPlay for Waze to spot cops on the PCM. It's truly set it and forget it.

I use my USB stick for music or the integrated Apple Music app, the steering wheel to change the song and volume level.

I just wish the HVAC controls were physical buttons instead. I see no benefit in the Taycans HVAC screen setup.

The Turbo GT steering wheel is marvelous. Size materials, build quality aside, the PASM switch has a lift button that I use all time.

The solid metal paddles not only feel good, but are useful. Left to turn Regen on/off, right is for Attack Mode.
Even the screws used are high quality. Everything is tight and put together properly.

The Sport Chrono and PASM knobs should have been aluminum instead of the cheap plastic.

100% agree. That is why they went back to physical climate controls on Macan EV.
We have no idea how good we have it in terms of screens and ergonomics.
I recently drove some rentals for long drive work trips and the screens/knobs/usability is just awful.

The button quality and tactical feel of the click is very high quality with a lot of thought into it.

Everything is tight and well put together. It makes a huge difference in how it makes you feel

The screws on the steering wheel are just styling elements, they don’t hold anything. The screws do add to the look of the steering wheel.

Hey guys,
I guess it's a matter of taste, I loved the 2 "floating" screens in my Xpeng G9 Perf (my son loved having all the latest streaming + dedicated audio on "his" passenger screen), without mentioning the near-perfect UI, driving assistances (all-in-1 packaged) etc... and I'm tech-driven, so I know I'll miss that in my Taycan, but this car is so incredible that I hope I'll forget about it quickly :)

That said, for example the interior of the new Cayenne EV is exactly what I'd love to see e.g. in a Taycan 2027 (not sure I can go back to SUVs after I drive the T.Turbo lol)

The screens are for you just mentioned, a cell phone experience.
That has its place, but for me, I prefer to focus and merge with the mechanical nature of the car, not the screen.
I thintk that's what Porsche was aiming for with the Taycan

I drove the Nio ET9. It had a gorgeous, snappy, large display.
It's a different philosophy compared to Taycan

Yes, I agree with you on that, and as you can see, despite being an "all-tech" guy (whilst being 50+ year old), I'm still choosing to buy a 2020 Taycan because everything else *but* the tech in this car is just the best I've tried.
But if there was a "cayenne EV interior" merged into the Taycan 2027 for 200K€ and if I had no budget limit, I'd jump into that without a thought :)

In my opinion, the entire center section between driver and passenger could really use a redesign. The storage compartment is impractical (enough threads about it, and Mat from Carwow had some on point videos about it), and the center screen feels pointless. I can't remember the last time I've used that screen. There’s a lot of wasted space that could’ve been used for proper physical buttons instead.

also agree on that, the more the better - also will miss having 2 flat spots, ventilated to charge your phone by induction

@Mr.Smith what are the paddles for? How are they now feeling solid? It is metal right? Or is the "click" not solid?

The paddles are very solid. Left is Regen on/off,right is Attack Mode (Push to Pass) for 10sec on/off.
The knobs (Blue Arrows) for mode selection and PASM have a really nice click, but around the knob is plastic. It should have been at least aluminum

Even the Ioniq 6 has them in aluminum
