Pro Version is not a must, but nicer

to make it clear, this is one of the better known OBD2 apps and I helped the author with making it work with the Taycan and provided some reverse engineered diag channels (some call it PIDs).

I tested at least 5 different dongles, BLE Dongles are much easier to handle and must have for IOS.

please test it and share some impression, screenshots, data, bugs, ideas and dashboard designs!


short howto:

in settings, choose your BT device, then select Porsche, Taycan profile and ready to connect and play around.

Works so far but not 100% happy with the handling (confusing same name legacy BT) and more. Had higher expectations with 50 EUR german non-cloned dongle.

The bottom option is "reboot". The PCM then reboots like a late 90s windows PC, and eventually comes back online.

LOL! Probably because it’s actually a 90s Windows PC??

Thank you for info.

I have the UniCarScan UCSI-2000 which I used it on my last car (BMW M5 Comp.).
- I connected the dongle, turn on the car (dongle found on my phone).
- Car Scanner app shows the dongle.
- I have turned off the bluetooth in my car.

The app will not connect?

Any suggestions?

at the bottom of the connection menu there is a "send log" function. post it here or may be send it to the supporting author.

best experience is with BT BLE where you do not need to pair the dongle before simply using it.

Anyway, I really appreciate what you did for Taycan OBD diagnostics. There are none that really work aside from PIWIS which is costly to get for a hobbyist.

Now, I will excuse myself and go have some fun with my OBD dongle!

EDIT: Just tried it. That's a lot of information!
My question is: How accurate is SoH measurement? Was it reported by the BMS? A week ago, when I was using Taycanizer to reset the PCM, I remember seeing my SoH at 83%. Today on Car Scanner, I got only 73%! That's a 10% drop in 12 days!
Should I worry? My 2021 4S was 8 months old with 15,000 km.

I don't think that's accurate.
Mine has SoH of 90,42%, pretty bad for just 25000km/28months...

you really expect any updates (you mean WNJ8??) will fix all issues?
I am pretty sure the "reset PCM" function will be needed in the future when backend issues are causing issues with PCM/Apple music etc.

Not at all, you can't change anything, only clear diagnostic trouble codes or trigger a reboot.
I don't know if Porsche uses an intrusion alarm storage but as far as I know it's just reading data, nothing else.
