Oh, I see. What are “packs” though, in this context? I’m not familiar.

In US and elsewhere Porsche offers packs - Technology, Premium, Performance etc where options are bundled (and can be unbundled to an extent).

For some reason Porsche UK don't whereas BMW , Audi and the rest all do.

Oh. PSP isn’t part of a pack in the US. It’s just standard equipment.

Its surprising how much the standard equipment differers in various markets. For example, in the Uk and Ireland things like Heat Pump and Porsche Intelligent Range Manager are standard but are options in other markets – and difficult ones to know if they should be selected too!

Call me old school, but I punted on PSS because it felt too light to me. I really wanted the rear wheel steering but couldn't get past the light feel at low speeds. I am used to the days where driving the 911 was truly a bicep workout although that was ages ago.

Ah yes I had many 911's without power steering and what a joy they were! It makes you wonder whether we need all the software and driver assistance aids or whether we'd really be better off without them. I simple electric driven old school 70's or 80's 911 that would be ideal I think. Someone somewhere must have cerated one!

In UK / Europe PSP is an extra at build or an FoD option after build. If you option RAS at build then PSP is included. No brainer therefore to always take RAS.

Rear Axle Steering is the other component and not standard. Choosing this option also incorporates Power Steering Plus.

Which – lucky for our American friends – is among the lowest in the world! But also why in these constrained times the US is getting a more limited supply of allocations. The US selling price only works for Porsche with high sales volume.

Yes correct - same in Europe. But we like RAS and so get PSP bundled. PSP can also be added FOD if you forget to add to a build.

I have Power steering plus and rear wheel steering and I think I the steering feel is the best I’ve probably ever driven. It is light enough when going slow and perfectly tightened when picking up speed. Great road feedback!
