Supplementary query - how to I cancel preheating. I dont want it on? Thanks
As per other guidance and depends on how you initiated it:

1. Via a Timer
2. Via door unlock (setting in PCM)
3. Manually pressing Pre-heat in the centre console (pressing again cancels it)
4. Via My Porsche (if on, disable when needed)
5. Via Porsche Connect (if on, disable when needed)

Ok, so you want charge the battery when the cost of electricity is low but precondition the cabin when the cost of electricity may be high?

Given your mileage, the simple way is charge once a week during times when electricity is cheap. Then unplug the rest of the week and use the cheap stored electricity to condition the cabin.

As to costs, assume you lose 20% on charging so your actual cost to charge is 5p * 20% which is still cheaper than your 14p.

Bob's your uncle.
Sorry I should have said 20 miles a day on most days. I like to stay fully charged just in case I need it, I only have the small battery. So I charge most nights to 100% if charge time allows within the 5p KWH range (0030-0430). If I know the set charge will not be reached within those hours I change the target charge to 50/60/70/80/90% depending on the current level of battery.

I like this set up.
