My 21 Taycan 4S is just over 2.5years old and coming up for 24,000km, I enjoy the car immensely and just thought I would post an update on its range and battery performance for interest. I generally check the range mid winter and mid summer so this morning after a charging session to top up to 50% the car was at 259km, a theoretical 518KM range for 100% and overall consumption for 24,000 km is standing at 17.1kWh/100km. A recent tyre tread depth check shows circa 8,000km remaining. The car has performed flawlessly now for 2 years and I intend to extend the warranty in October for another year.

A theoretical range of 322 miles and 27.6kwh/100 miles is way more than I get on my 4S CT. I think my is reporting about 40kwh/100 miles.

Thanks for sharing! We need more sharing of positive experiences in this forum! I have a 2023 4S for just about a year and so far have been enjoying the car immensely just as you have been.

Your range seems really solid. 518 kms (321 miles) is much more than the peak I saw, which I believe was ~290 miles. Is yours with AC on or off?

I rarely use AC as we dont really get excessive heat here in the West of Ireland or indeed throughout the country. I find using the cooling fan more than adequate. I do use the heater in autum winter spring but I find the heated seats really are very useful in minimising the need for the heater. There is a big difference in the range in winter where I see figures as low as 380-400km but that doesnt bother me as the car charges so fast when I need to stop on longer journeys. After 2.5years of ownership I am in no doubt the Taycan is the most enjoyable car I have owned and I will certainly buy another in a few years.

I have had a similar positive experience with my 2020 4S...I have had ne problems save those of my own making. I bought out the lease in the Fall of 23, and Porsche insured it for 86 months. I expect hold onto the Taycan for 10 years, excepting unforeseen problems

Phil,
is your great mileage range down to the speeds you are driving at? Galway is not noted for its motorways. My range is circa 270 miles in the summer on long trips at 70mph motorway speeds but when driving up and down the Scottish A & B roads in the summer, its well over 300 miles.

Hi Bob, I do about 50% on Motorways, typically I have a round trip of 200km to Shannon from Galway at least once a month and a 220km round trip to the midlands almost all Motorway. The rest of the mileage is local on what you would class as B roads. The range and mileage has been pretty consistent through the past two winters and summers. On a round trip to St Andrews from Galway in summer 2022 the range was consistently in the 480km + area and has maintained at that level this year. I generally travel on Motorways close to the speed limit here of 120km. Heading off to Scotland soon to Troon, Glasgow and Oban so will see how that trip works out.
