You don't need to worry is the bottom line on this.

As long as you have a Porsche warranty you are covered for the car in general and the battery is warranted for 8 years from original manufacturing date of the car.

Recalls can be generic or VIN specific and as long as you source your car from an official dealership then Porsche will reach out as and when or be addressed during routine maintenance by your Porsche dealership.

I love that all of you guys really enjoy the car, but I have to think long term. I usually dont trade my cars often and if I buy a 2021 I have like 4 years to enjoy the car... and.. then what?

So my question is... how will you feel when warranty is over?

Extend it where possible obviously.

The car won't expire on the 8th year and will have many years left in it.

Options for battery replacement might be economically attractive by then.

Agree with others, 4 or 4s will help you get the power down more easily.

If you go RWD, check if it has air suspension - you'll want it.

You may want to consider finding a car with air cooled seats.

Do you have plenty of space to park - they're massive, long & wide. Rear axle steer certainly helps.

Biased - but I'd suggest a CT or ST rather than coupe for added practicality. And the CT has the perf battery as standard.

I would vote for the RWD - I think it's more fun to drive and the range is (marginally) better. And since the ST does not exist in a "4" version you have to go for either the 4S or a CT. I really don't like the CT look so that was the deciding factor for me. If you are OK with that you can go for a CT if you want AWD, but please test drive both first.

I would ensure the car have PB+, Air suspension and ACC.

Mine have had no issues with tire wear etc. The rear winter tires wear faster than on my previous cars but that was expected.

Here Porsche Approved is around 1500 eur/year and can be extended until the car is 15 years old or 200.000km. I don't plan to keep the car that long but if it was nearing the end of the warranty I would be prepared that it will be expensive to maintain.

I would not fear battery degradation though. It seems that failing cells/modules is what is causing the stir - Not that the batteries wear over time. And it seems more or less random if they fail and not tied to usage patterns.

Mine is not under the recall yet btw.

Crazy that we have exactly the same vision and the same taste, that is exactly what I am looking for :)

Battery warranty will expire in 8 years. The data shows that the battery will outlive the car.

It will but then you can look to purchase another - hars to imagine that that won't be an option.
We will probably be well into the exchange rebuilt possibilities by then.
The battery assembly contains lots of expensive parts which may well last longer than the cells so I would imagine exchange units will be an economical way to keep an older car running, as it is with IC engines.
I would be surprised if the motors and transmission don't last many times longer than IC engines do.

Great answers, I really thank you for all your inputs.....

While searching I saw this option... it really caught my eye... is this a specific body kit?

Porsche Taycan RWD, 4s, none? Help me decide, please! taycan

This is not a body kit, just some areas that are black plastic were painted to body color.
This is the factory look of a Turbo, so you can compare.

Let me thank you again for all your helpful inputs....

I usually cruise on highway at around 150 km/h.... do you have any idea on what kind of consumption I can expect at these speeds? Average temperature here is 20ºC...

... I am prepared for a not so good value :) .... I know.... but I find really boring driving under 140km/h on highway.

Thanks in advance

That is really way too fast to be efficient but ideal outside temp. This is a Porsche after all and you mentioned your daily drive is not very long, so consumption should not matter, just have fun.

This would be too fast for us here in the US as sustainable speed for consumption measurement, so defer to our EU members to provide consumption and range at high speeds you are asking for.

About the ARB6/7, do we know the % of cars affected? So just to understand, cars that are not under the ARB6/7 recall are perfectly fine, or all the Taycans will have the software installed?

If not contacted by Porsche then your car is not in scope.

Assumes you have purchased from an authorised dealer. / VIN registered in your name.
