I took it but have heard on previous posts that when it comes to insurance it does not make that difference.
For me it is a very small price to pay for extra peace of mind.
Thanks.

My insurance company requested a tracker, activating this was an easy option

Looks like having it makes zero difference to my insurance cost .. so looks like it’s simply a question of the extra extra peace of mind it adds. Think I’ll go for it. Unless someone tells me the Porsche system is rubbish. Thanks.

Do you want it back if its stolen?
That's the question.....

On all other performance car forums I have been on, the general concensus is you don't want it back if it gets stolen.

Not sure if it's any different for a Taycan / EV?
Less mechanical damage if driven like they stole it I suppose... ?

Possibly a stupid question, but how often do EVs get stolen? I can’t help thinking that the nightmare of charging if you don’t know what you are doing together with reduced range if pushing it hard make stealing an EV unattractive. You can’t pay cash at a charger and will probably leave a trail If you do charge. But maybe I am wrong?

Similar thinking to me. ?

I started a thread on it before I got my car iirc...?
Having been the victim of a violent car theft, its something I am interested in.

It was pointed out that any would be thieves would not know how much charge was in the battery.

And they should assume that the car has high levels of tech. Effectively it talks to Porsche servers constantly just to work normally.

And then what do they do with it?
Ship it abroad? Sell it for parts?

I just see ICE cars being more of a known known to the average thieving tw@ts currently.

why doesn't Porsche simply work on getting their Plug-n-charge to work....then they could simply disable the vehicle ID and not allow the vehicle to charge at any 3rd party charger and/or send a OTA update to not allow the vehicle to charge....ever, until retrieved and unlocked.

Just putting this out on the trusty inter-web's should be a theft deterrent and then allow all rates to decrease as it will promise to make any stolen Taycan inoperable.
