So while driving our Taycan I hear a medium pitched beep it appears to come from somewhere on the drivers side, door panel or higher, it's not the sound that the seat makes when you save the power seats, nor is it similar to any sound I've heard the car make before, but it happens once or twice a drive, sometimes in what appears to be the same section of road. I cannot figure out what it might be, but it's like two or three beeps in a row, and then it stops. That's it. Anyone have thoughts on what it might be?

This makes me wonder whether it might be resonance between the tires and grooves in the pavement. There are definitely a few places I drive frequently where a lane change causes a consistent and short-lived sound, but I would describe it as more of a hum or buzz than a beep.

No it's not that, it's 100% A piezo beeping sound, I thought for a while it might be something the AirTag on the keys was doing but now I've had that buried in a pocket and it's still super clear and sounds from the other side of me. It doesn't sound like any other tone the car makes, it's almost like a digital watch (which I still think are a pretty neat idea) is hanging out chiming somewhere but it's not that regular. I've crawled all over the car, under the seats etc, and can't find something like that, including pulling the fuse trim panel on the drivers side to look behind it.

That's odd, I had a similar experience last week. One of my kids noticed the sound whilst we were sitting in traffic, and we were stationary. Couldn't work out where it was coming from. I haven't noticed it since.

It's from the PCM. J1.1 has this "feature".

Not sure what exactly in the PCM makes that noise. Used to think it's running on an hdd or something, and maybe that. But it's not.

EDIT: i see you say it beeps 3 times, so maybe not the same thing I know.

Could be that you have the vehicle tracking subscription? In some markets, it comes with an external device, usually in the glove box.

If its the same as my experience its warning you that the speed you're travelling at is faster than the speed limit snoopy thing.

That's an interesting thought I'm going to try that out, I don't feel like I hear it on freeways, but certainly in neighborhoods, I can now run some tests though

I get this same noise as well. It happens randomly and can beep as little as 3 to as many as 5 or 6. Would love to figure out what it is. I don’t feel it is speed related as I have heard it below posted speed limits.

Do you have the Porsche Dashcam?

I heard a similar thing going around a round-about every time I went down that road. In the end I think it was the sensors in the dashcam picking up a nearby obstacle (road sign near ground level) and signalling that it was recording an event.
You can alter the sensitivity of the dash cam picking up such events, in the phone app. Now it doesn't happen anywhere near as often.

We don’t have the dash cam, I just tried a couple of experiments and I can’t trip it by just exceeding the speed limit even by 5-10mph so don’t think it’s that. All the warnings are off for speed in assistance systems

I get it too. Almost sounds like the clock seconds hand ticking but it isn’t this. It isn’t speed related since I get it when going fairly slowly in traffic. No idea what it is. Had the same in both Taycans I have owned.

I think that is EU only and mandatory on all new cars.

PVTS was external on MY20/21 models and then integrated into PCM after that.

Heard it several times yesterday it's two short beeps like 0.25-0.5 second log each with a shorter delay between them, so beep-beep not anywhere near as polished as any other sound the car makes, nothing pops on the dashboard at the time of the sound at all, super frustrating that there's something warning me about what I don't know. I've crawled all over the car again and can't find anything in there that's making the noise, it happens near the same place in the drive frequently but not always just there, often other places, and not always there..... I'd say mostly there. It's a section of road a few miles from the house that we travel on for most trips from the house.
