2022 Taycan is coming up on the finance end of this year - £72k remaining to be paid and £50k value. This car has all the extras we enjoy, most notably Burmester and Massage Seats (that actually work, versus most other cars) which are quite rare in the used market.

So should we:

1. Pay out £72k for the car we know and love - but absorbing a £20k+ loss which I could pass onto the finance company. This feels sub-optimal!
2. Keep trawling the used pages for an equivalent but at "market price", like this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-de...tion=at_cars&sort=relevance&postcode=HP15 6HZ. Looked at Audi RS Etron GT and I cannot get my head around the cheap feeling interior when compared to the Taycan, but they seem to be about £10-£15k cheaper than an equivalent Taycan.
3. Buy with the business/head something new around £50k that is not a Tesla - MG IM5 Performance 100, BYD Seal etc. Test drove a Sealion and did not like it to drive, although the interior was great.

I have reached out to dealers to see what can be done on a new one - I love the purple, but £100k + on a new Taycan feels like not learning a lesson but if anyone hears of crazy discounts on new - please private message me.

Will the finance company take market value for your car?

Is a tough decision as there isn't many EV cars on the road that look as good as the Taycan and if you have one you like that doesn't cause you problems, why change.

That being said, I recently sat in a Lotus Emeya and why I don't think its exterior looks as nice as the taycan, it's interior was amazing. They are another car to add to the list...

As @tropical says I'd be tempted to approach the finance company and say you'd like to keep the car but won't pay the full balloon payment - it must be in their interests to take a lower price than take the car back.

My finance is direct with Porsche (VAG), and they were not interested in the slightest in terms of anything with my current car. Haven't even replied to me. I refuse to swallow any kind of loss and pay above market value, because why would I?

So, having a certain expectation of customer service, I have put a deposit down on something else. If I had engagement from them, maybe I'd think about another option. But they were only interested in selling me something new and even then details were sent as plain numbers without APR figures or discounts applied.

I agree Porsche (VAG) will not be interested, that was my experience too. It was full balloon or hand it back.

If the finance is with Porsche, hand it back, keep a note of your VIN. Give it a few weeks, do a few searches and find it for sale at a Porsche Centre with warranty and new tyres! That's what happened to my Turbo S.

I didn't buy it though :CWL:

The Lender is Virgin Money, they won't sell directly, I have asked and offered £55k (above market!). I may try and register for BCA and monitor auction sites for it. Saw the Im5 today, OMG no. Just no.

So I erring towards the used one I included the link to as it has Burmester and Massage but I'd need to get chrome trim painted and mileage a touch high. Love a Turbo S for £550k, 30k miles with Burmester, will keep an eye out.

I now have the Burmester and understand your point. 👍

2 definitely...and just keep a close on approved used and autotrader. At that price point it will appear quickly.

No question give it back. Then look for a nice CPO Turbo S to replace it.

Discounts on new are being offered on new 4S as I asked about used - end of year fun. I will not share how much but appreciate any DMs with what people are seeing. What do people think of stepping down from an "old Turbo" to a new 4S? I have only driven a regular Taycan other than the Turbo which felt very slow, but equally I rarely fully bury the throttle on the Turbo. My Launch Control days are quite rare but appreciate the motorway over take.
