So I can confirm that like most everything else on this vehicle, Porsche over delivers with the speed limiter. 160 mph is when software cuts the fun (not the stated 155 mph) in case anyone was wondering...

Do you have proof maybe in the form of an official citation from your local highway patrol?
I can neither confirm nor deny having a relationship with my local law enforcement and knowing when a rural, well maintained, very lightly trafficked road with excellent visibility is unpatrolled. So no citation, but I do have this....

I don´t want to be obnoxious, yet 160mph indicated is probably closer to 155mph real. You would need confirmation. On mine 140 km/h indicated is a true 137km/h. In Europe there are severe penalties for manufacturers if they indicate a speed slower than the real one. Therefore, most mainstream manufacturers show at least 3% over, with some approaching closer to 8% ! German sports cars are usually much more accurate. My 2004 AMG E55K estate only showed 0,5% over real speed. Disclaimer: Photo taken by passenger, German autobahn, circa 2007, 105,000kms. on the clock, AMG factory limiter upped to 300km/h, real speed confirmed to be 302.4 km/h by using a stopwatch over 4 km.

This is a good point and I too can attest to the speedo’s reading over what the actual speed is with previous German cars I’ve owned. With that said, I did spot check the Taycan with Waze GPS from my phone last week and the speedometer (surprisingly) appeared to be aligned with the GPS reported speed at 75 mph. I’d be curious if anyone else can confirm that the reported speed is accurate on our cars.

I’ve seen that for the Turbo models...4S has a different speed limit set.

The difference is bigger when using mph.
When using kph it's much more accurate.
Example:
When doing 100,5kph it'll read 101 on the speedo.
When doing 62,5mph (100kph) it'll read 63 (100,8kph) on the speedo.
That's a 0,8kph difference instead of 0,5kph when using kph! :)
