Hi,
I am based in New Zealand
There is a ex UK taycan for sale here but i understand the inbuilt SIM won't work in NZ
i assume its an ESIM and that porsche will be a pain with an imported car
Is it possible to resolve this? how does this work in europe with the ability to drive from the UK to other countries?
if not i assume a lot of features would be unavailable.

If anyone can assist i would be very appreciative

Cheers

The CTO of the company that supplies the eSIM here in Europe (https://www.cubictelecom.com/) is a friend of mine. I've asked them the question and will revert when I get something back.

Edit: They have moved on from that position recently – hadn't realised. I still put the question into the company for you – Irish companies tend to be friendly so might get a response.

The eSIM here in Europe has a roaming agreement across the UK/EU/EEA (+ few micro states) countries, so it just works as normal when you cross borders. It sometimes takes a few minutes to find the new network.

In essence, the eSIM has no one "home" country – its always roaming.

Ask your Dealer - perhaps than can reprogramme the eSIM for NZ.

Dealer in NZ claims you’re out of luck .. that you will always have a “orphan” car
Surely there must be a way ..

Having the same problem with my Taycan in UAE, anyway we cam pay for roaming outside of the UK/EU/EEA?
