@neo402, the price you agreed to pay should be in the purchase order document on the dealership letterhead, outlining all priced items, such your deposit, doc fees, and agreed amount for the car, with your build attached to it with the commission number. That is a legally locked agreement per my SA and I am not impacted although I only locked on 10-Mar-2023 and now at TYD Stage 03 reached on 23-Mar-2023.

Did anyone notice how the build configurator no longer shows model year? I wonder if this is in indicator that Porsche intends to start doing mid-year price adjustments, i.e. all order locking after the adjustment get the new price, regardless of model year. Any other theories why to remove model year from the configurator?

I spoke with my SA and he says all remaining MY23 allocations are assigned (at his dealership) meaning a commission number is assigned so pricing is locked. I believe they were told in advance to make sure they placed all orders against allocation before the 30th to ensure the pricing was locked.

He said the pricing on the website is MY24
This is how I understand it as well, there are no MY23 allocations available because of the timescale to resolve the heater issue.

So the price is effectively the MY24 price that they are advertising early but they haven’t announced any specification changes which come along with either the model year change or facelift depending on which we get.

I think it’s just a special case due to the delays caused by heater issues and the potential facelift coming this year.

Are you saying that these new prices apply to MY23 Taycans, and if so which ones (ones on dealer lots today, ones in transit, ones not yet build, you think there are more allocations coming for MY23 this year, other)?

No, as per my post above I was told the price uplift came early as there are no MY23 allocations now available and there are rules (in the UK at least) that they cannot advertise a vehicle for sale at a value they can't deliver it for, so on the basis they know they couldn't deliver MY23 cars for new orders they are showing the MY24 prices now but haven't yet updated the specification as that's not announced yet.

Ok, so these are prices for MY24 but spec of MY23 for which there are no more allocations available? Why not just leave the prices alone, say MY23 is limited stock of what's on the lots?

I am not sure what purpose it would serve to misrepresent the cost of a custom configured car based on the old list price for dealer stock, stock cars are priced and offered for sale often including dealer mark up, when configuring a car it is understood that would be a new factory order.

I suspect the UK and US are very different in this regard and agree its much more ambiguous for US customers where there is much larger dealer stock. There are only 20 new unregistered cars available in the UK, the majority are either pre owned or demonstrators which are effectively used as well.

Looking at the list over the past few weeks the advertised prices for new models in stock have not changed as a result of the price increase so they don't look to be affected.

I still don't get why raise the prices online for cars which will never be produced (if the configurators shows MY23 for which there is no more production allocations planned), instead of just leaving the old MY23 with MY23 prices until they have MY24 ready to announce. What exactly is their legal liability for doing that? Are you saying if it's in the configurator, they have to deliver it, they cannot be out of stock? So if a UK resident orders a million Taycans, they have to deliver at the price in the configurator, even though it will take them 20 years to make them at full factory capacity?

I have relayed it as it was told to me, it makes sense to me and having a car on order which I now know will be a MY24 at those prices I am happy with it.

I personally don’t see the point in underselling the costs just now when they can’t deliver cars at that price. I appreciate others may feel differently about that because MY24 specifications are still undefined.

For instance I have ordered Matrix Headlights, it seems highly likely they will become standard with optional HD versions at additional cost, the SA knows these things are potentials but doesn’t have details so my price will likely still change from today depending on how these changes pan out. I did not order Ioniser but seems likely that will be included in base spec so a minor saving there.

Ambient lighting is now standard. Oddly I have it listed for MY23 but my car doesn't have it so suspect it is a MY24 standard addition.

That’s another one on my option list that still has a price against it. Hopefully a small saving against the base price increase!!

Looking at britain configurator, seems like following will be std: ambient lighting, sport button, drive mode switch on steering wheel, electric sound. Theres more if you go thru. No prices listed.

Not sure why you say that as Ambient lighting is still showing as £299 and Sport sound £354.

Got it. Weird for me, using Britain configurator, doesn't show me any prices. Maybe it recognizes I am in USA logged in. Or maybe I am doing something wrong.
