Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. My 2021 TTS was updated two days ago. I love the responsiveness of the updated PCM and its new looks. My range did not change, however. My understanding was that it would. What have others on the same boat experienced?

Thanks in advance.

Think logical.
1 kwh = 1kwh.
and 2500 kg (weight of Taycan) = 2500kg.
Now… how could (entertainment) software extend range, ie. change kgs or kwhs?

it because this update is bigger than just the PCM.
it is supposed to increase the power train efficiency for 2020/2021 models. Now I’m talking about the ana6.

Wishful thinking…or, powerpoint promises?
please, don’t take me wrong, but it’s hard to believe …having in mind the software quality… so, i’m still sceptical (i’ll see next week, after uPgrade).

tesla once had a major update that was able to improve range, I thought I saw in the early update notes that range improvement was part of the update.

As I understand it, the new software was supposed to move Normal and Range modes to the rear motor only, thereby bypassing power for the front motor and increasing the range on these modes.

After 3 years in Tesla i can confirm that a software update can give a noticable amount of added range (it even gave me more HP once).

I wouldn't be surprise that after 3 years, Porsche learned a lot and was able to optimise the range on older models just with some lines of code.

2395kg (PB*).

Update is more than a PCM update as per the release notes where a 'bump' in range is also mentioned.

Definition of 'bump' is less clear.

I sat in a new GTS ST today at 100% charge - 26C outside. Quoted range 230 miles - exact same as my 21 month old 4S.

I think we've already had the bump with various earlier updates and would focus more on average consumption rather than the headline range at 100% charge.

I'm still confused over the de-coupling of the front motor for range mode; isn't that the smaller one for us 4S ballers? Would make sense that using the front (as it does now pre-update, got late sept. appointment) would be more efficient. Unless the front motor is of a much less efficient design?

Still favours the front motor and decouples 100% during coasting is what I understood.

Not had the update yet, 7th Sep for me.

In my 2022 4CT it decouples de front engine when driving at a steady speed on the highway. Or is this what you are saying?

Coasting is when you don't have your foot on the gas and regen or cruise not enabled - effectively freewheeling. In this scenario either motor is powered down.

Range drive mode until now is always front motor biased unless going downhill.

The tweak thats potentially 'new' is whether the front motor is 100% inactive or not.

In mine in range mode and normal mode , in the power distribution screen, the front one is inactive when driving at a steady speed and the rear one is active.

Quite possible.
i noticed thst my average consumption went down (a lot), even if i changed back to 21” summer tyres.
after winter (March 15), when my consumtion went down from about 24kwh/100 km to 22…now, I have 19,8kwh.100km (after total 19.728km)….and i’m driving on the same routes since day 1.

That’s strange. Maybe depends on MY?
i have CT4 (MY21), in Range mode front engine is active.
