I'm wondering if this issue is mine and mine alone, or if this is a shared problem, but the lighting in my trunk is poor/dim/shitty/useless/awful/embarrassing/yougetthepoint.

I have looked through the Good To Know app and can not find if there is a way to increase the lumens (from essentially zero) so that I can actually see what's in my trunk, at night.

Help! Am I alone in this? Or is your trunk/boot light really bad?

But is it fixable? Has anybody tried to talk to their dealer about it? I called mine earlier today and all they did is confirm that it's low and unadjustable. grrrr.

I suppose I'm merely asking if it's possible that the lights can be brighter and if so, how do we do that?

Have you managed to locate the bulb and pull it out? It seems like you could spec a brighter LED bulb.

I have not tried, but the idea occurred to me. I want the dealer to do it. Who's that Porsche Sales Guy on TaycanForum that says we can ask him anything? Oh yes, @LukeManning. Hey Luke, can this be fixed? Seriously, go to a dark room and open the trunk. Bring a flashlight, because the trunk lights won't really help.

Same here, it’s rubbish, it’s not bothered me enough to look at changing the bulb yet though..

Yeah same, if there is an upgrade we need to get it! I’m forever using the torch on my phone. I’m going to take a look tomorrow and shall report back!

My Tesla was the same for all the inside lights. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t keep the after market lights and use them in the Taycan. I’m sure the after market will catch up soon.

After market lights?! What after market lights are you referring to?

My apologies everyone, I just now saw this thread.

I personally haven't had the Taycan at home with me and needed to get anything out of the trunk/frunk at night in a while.

Hate to hear it's an inconvenience for y'all. I would put in a direct response to Porsche and let them know and maybe they can come up with a permanent solution to the issue with brighter bulbs or something.

I've contacted my dealer. They are "looking into it" but I don't anticipate a solution. Which kinda sucks because the lighting in the trunk sucks. Apparently it isn't just my observation. It's not a bug...it's a feature.

Porsche, fix this ridiculous situation by allowing for brighter lights that you know, illuminate the trunk!

This is DEEP in the territory of "s--- Porsche doesn't care about." It's terrible in every model.

Upgrades to these lights are very common among Macan owners because they're awful on that car too. Some enterprising forum member will soon give us advice on what more powerful bulbs can be used without blowing the fuse. Let's hear it, engineers!
