That penalty was one of the things that persuaded me against leasing the car via my limited company, the leasing company stated that if I were to cancel the order I would need to pay 10 percent of the full term payments..which was just ridiculous.

That coupled with IR35 rules meaning my limited company is not getting the income it used to convinced me to ride it out a bit longer with my model 3 via the business (benefiting from the amazing current BIK charges) and instead look to purchase the Taycan outright once I’ve saved up over the next year or so.
I was going to do it through my business (lease or Business PCP) but in the end decided to get it myself via Personal PCP for a number of reasons.

It may cost more initially, but I am expecting Taycans to hold onto decent retained values and I want it to belong to me after 4 years.

YOWZERS ?

Is that Tusker per chance? They’re telling me 35 weeks, but nothing further until I’ve actually ordered and Porsche update them.
I've placed my order via Tusker. I can tell you the website lead time is not accurate. I managed to speak with the supplying dealer today and he was unable to confirm any timings as my order from 3 weeks ago hasn't been assigned a build slot. When I suggested a 12 month wait he thought that was about right...

Perhaps conform with them that the deposit can be transferred to another car (Porsche) if you cancel since then you could potentially sell the slot to someone else.

Standard Porsche BS to be honest but its normally refundable. I suspect they don't really want all these lease companies buying their cars.

Their estimates do seem to be a work of fiction.

Only their Polestar lead time appears accurate.

So I have to work on 12 months with that £5k lurking in the background In reality.

At best but there might be a customer cancellation so who knows - a lot can happen in 12 months.

I’ve had it confirmed that the £5k would only apply once the car has a firmed factory build slot, so it is very much in accordance with standard Porsche protocol.

Good news
It certainly makes sense.

BMW dealers are finally receiving their i4 M50 demos and my local is getting theirs on Monday apparently, so I’ll go check that out before making any decision. Nothing will happen over Xmas anyway in terms of processing my order.

I've just booked collection for next week so I'll upload some photos.

I'm sure you'll find that very helpful :)

lol

I have zero doubt about which one I want, it’s just head vs heart.

If any one fancies telling my 13 year old daughter that the MR2 has to go to fund the Porsche….. be my guest.

Shes a car nut, but doesn’t like the Taycan, which really doesn’t help. She likes the BMW. I’d hoped she’d be over the moon excited about the prospect of daddy having a Porsche, turns out I’d probably need to buy a McLaren 765LT for that to be the case.
