Greetings,

I recently purchased a CPO 2021 Taycan Base and am puzzled by this intermittent chime. I have checked to ensure that personal speed limit and speed sign warnings are turned off as well as any Assistance warnings and notification sounds are off. It most often occurs when going over a dip in the road or a speed bump but not aways repeatable. Attached video shows the issue - you can see the car dip a bit just prior to the chime.

Any thoughts?
Anyone else experience this?

I took it to a dealer and they had no ideas and saw no logs.

Cheers!

I have never heard of this type of chime when at speed as you are showing. My best guess would be that this is a proximity chime with one of the sensors not working properly possibly pointing down detecting the front too close to the ground. I do get a chime when I go down my driveway, that is not steep but has an angle and then when my nose points to the road, I believe I would get a chime, but never when going over speed bumps or dips.

Any chance you have another app running, such as Waze, that could be alerting you for speed, regardless of what settings you have made to the car?

It might be far fetched but there is warning tone generated by the trunk. Is the tone coming from inside the passenger compartment? Do you have a specific road location to make it happen? Have you driven the car with the dealer tech onboard to hear the sound? Tell us what you find.

Doesn't sound like the parking sensors as that can and does occur (on any low slung Porsche).

I think yoppdk could be right, could be waze ... I've had it in the past where it would just play some chime instead of saying "entering average speed zone".
Maybe it's alerting you for the bumps.
Or it's your dashcam that's very sensitive and is saving the clip as it thinks you've been in an accident. (mine does it when I launch the car like a maniac, the cam thinks I got rear-ended :) )

Just throwing out another idea here. Have you checked the PCM display? There is a chime that happens when a calendar event is presented.

If you don't see a calendar notification on the PCM then that isn't the cause.

The tone is coming from inside the cabin near the dash area.
There is a location near my house where it occurs often. I’ll take a drive to the area near my dealer and will try to find a reproducible location for them.

We have a winner! It was one of my dash cams!
Thanks for suggesting this- much appreciated.

I have a FitcamX mounted under the rear view mirror, and a 70mai camera in the rear which was the culprit.
