I have the base audio system and as many have previously said in other threads, it's terrible. Can any advise me if my warranty would be affected if I went to a car audio place and paid for an upgrade?

Thanks

Everything I read here about UK warranty-cases in the last months would make me worry, that Porsche GB would try to put any issue in connection when possible.

Normally, warranty to non-related parts, fe steering-rack, motor, HV battery would likely not be affected.
But, legally, it could be complicated.

When I ordered my car only the base audio was available due to component shortages.
I am a music lover with a home stereo which cost more than my new Taycan and I find the standard audio with tone controls in the neutral position to be fairly low colouration with an even frequency response so I am slightly bemused by those that don't like it.
Sorry, I know that doesn't help...

I hope your home stereo has held its value better than the car!!

Also a base radio person. It’s fine.

Given the wording of the warranty terms it may void it on paper, though in practice I'm not sure if there's frequent evidence of after market work being held against a claim on an unrelated aspect of the car.

I guess I have been spoilt by the audio systems I have had in previous cars

I haven't tried to sell my stereo, so I don't know (nor for the Taycan probably keeping it 6 years). In general HiFi is a fashion business and fashionable brands hold price best though objectively audio electronics was a "solved problem" decades ago.
I certainly have better value from it though in terms of hours per week of use.
