I suspect it will appear first on the Macan EV in 2024 /5 and may not feature on the Taycan at all. After research the PCM software problems, I believe that PCM 6 has improved a lot of problems, but there are still many problems, so I wonder when Porsche will release PCM 7.0. Does anyone know? Looking forward to someone knowing the news to chat
Probably a hardware issue then or your PCM stack needs rebuilt.New SW is already there since 2 weeks. I have it since 2 nd of February. Still issues with PCM that gets stuck. Problems with charging and falling out of the car on the road.
in middle of round a bout myCT stopped and fall out. Nothing to do about it.
also,a new (2nd one) on board charger needed.
Have already 3 new pcm ‘s in my car. ??Probably a hardware issue then or your PCM stack needs rebuilt.
Isn't carplay an Apple thing? There is a good news, the new version of Carplay will realease this year, as the report mentioned, many car manufacter has joined in the project, of course Porsche included, the new carplay system has many centralized functions which could basicly replace the car's nature system. it is a very pratical solution for the next generation of electric car.
I’ll bite… why? I’m not an Apple fanboy and have used great devices from different companies including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and others.Isn't carplay an Apple thing?
I hope Porsche isn't going down that rabbit hole.
I'm not touching Apple stuff with a 6 feet pole.
You can bite but I'm not reeling in ?I’ll bite… why? I’m not an Apple fanboy and have used great devices from different companies including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and others.
I agree that the car shouldn’t require an Apple device to provide a good user experience. I was mostly curious about your strong feelings towards Apple. If you don’t want to elaborate I can respect that. You can bite but I'm not reeling in ?
Personal choice. I just hope the car won't require us to have an iPhone to give us a good UX. I rather get rid of the car then buy an... an... iOS device.
The list is too long. I think it's mostly because I work in IT and my worst experiences have (coincidentally or not) always been with either Apple users or their devices. I literally roll my eyes whenever an iPhone lands on my lap whose user can't connect to a radius secured WiFi network because they have to download and install two certificates and reboot the phone ("oh no, I can't reboot. I don't know my pin. I haven't rebooted since I bought the phone"). It's just cringe.I agree that the car shouldn’t require an Apple device to provide a good user experience. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully that was therapeutic. The list is too long. It's also cringe that you can't change the extension of a file on iOS and it's even more cringe when some Prof. who doesn't own a hdmi adapter for his macbook acts as if my department should provide an adaptor because he made a wrong life choice of owning a mac.
And don't even get me going with those proprietary charger plugs or trying to shove their 1 year warranty in Europe (both didn't end well for them).
OK ok. I'm taking a Xanax to calm down.
