911 for sure. here in the uk at least. I don't know what the other guys in this thread are on about but Taycans are prettttty common these days. went for a drive the other day and literally saw 4 Taycans drive past me on a 20 mile stretch, not even a posh area.
when i had my 911, it turned a heck of a lot more heads.... partly because of the engine noise i guess, but it frankly looks a lot more special imo.

I am poor, so I've never owned a 911. I do get stopped between two to three times a day to tell me I have a beautiful car. Every so often the questions are about the color, and here and there people ask about it being electric. I'm less concerned about the people stopping me as I'm walking into the grocery store and more concerned with people almost side-swiping me on the road just to tell me they like the car. This has happened about four times. To be fair, I live in a very small town with maybe about ten Porsches total. No other is a Taycan.

dunno how small a town you have that has 10 Porsches ! I've lived in a few "small towns" here in the UK (around 2000 people) and fairly never once saw one lol.

also you're never too poor to have a 911. mine when I had it, cost half the price of what I paid for my Taycan. granted it was 10 years old compared to 3 years old but even still.

Lol. There are around ten of us, all different ages and sizes. A lot of them are Cayennes and Maccans, and someone just purchased a chalk Panamera. I saw another Taycan once, but I was like two hours away from home near DC. I don't believe our infrastructure really can support a non-Tesla EV in my area. For example, I have not been able to successfully charge away from home since I've owned the car. So, when I say "small town" I mean fewer resources and no super Walmart. ?

it appears that “regular” folk think this is some sort of high 6-figure exotic.
Well… that’s because it is to most people. Most people can’t phantom having a 200.000 car just as much as they can’t phantom a 900.000 car

brand new a well specced turbo is 230.000+; same for a turbo s can be 260.000 when well specced; and the new turbo gt can come close to 300.000 . So it is a 6 figures car, when new

i assume you mean "fathom" not phantom? lol.
looks like porsches are more expensive where you are than here, i specced one up the other day and it came to £175k (about 195k euro) and for that I selected pretty much most options except the custom paint job

Yes, while Porsche prices seem to be a bit higher where you are (isn't just about everything in Switzerland??), I totally agree that most people—myself included—can't imagine spending $200,000 on a car. That said, the point I was trying to make is that people tend to ignore the possibility that the car was not purchased new. With the steep depreciation that Taycans have had, this makes a 3 year-old pre-owned Taycan 4S very price competitive versus new cars. Especially compared to new EVs. It's an understandable assumption that people make when it comes to luxury brands like Porsche and other German automakers. I just find it interesting that the Taycan seems to be a more extreme version of this.
