just had a look at porsche.it, can't find it there ... maybe still unavailable in Italy? propose to call your dealer.

Wow! That looks to be touching 4x the cost of the std panoramic roof.

First thing I do in our XC90 when I get in it is put the blind for the pano' roof back - it auto closes when it's hot outside so I guess is useful from that perspective....but beyond showing the LCD blind to people the first time they see it, I suspect it would go unused.

We have had 2 cars with glass roofs in the past and I disliked the feel of the sun's radiation on my head, and since then I have lost a bit more hair... Both of them had shades I could and did use but still decided never again.
I must say I love the variable shade and its gadget quotient is at least 1000% but I know I would demonstrate it to new passengers and apart from that rarely use it. It isn't even in the driver's sight line normally and my back seats are for occasional grandchild transport so I am happy with no glass roof at all :)

@POL

ah, seems that SC Roof is available for GTS Sedan only.
Currently, yes, but it’s intended for the ST too - most of the Sport Turismo shown at the GTS launch have had the variable roof.

In the UK, it is currently available in the configurator for the GTS Saloon, but not the ST.

At £3.6k I don't think it's worth it. It's a (cool) gimmick and another option that will go to £0 depreciation as soon as you drive it off the forecourt.

Not worth it, and certainly not in the UK. Better to put that money towards the driving experience options.

IMHO it's worth it. And to be honest: €5K (let's better say €3,5K when "upgrading" from standard Panorama Roof) isn't that much in relation to the final price of the car ;)

Looking at 2 almost identical second hand cars, one with the roof, one without it, they are not going to be priced the same. I guess £1,500-£2,000 more for the one with the roof. So, in practice, it will actually cost you £1,800 for the roof (c. £50 a month over 3 years).

That’s going to be worth it for some but not others.

I'm not massively convinced.

It might make one easier to sell...but if both have pano' roofs (one normal, one electric) I'm not sure it would command 2k more.

Time will tell :)

I get the feeling the second hand Taycan with the electric pano roof in the UK that's £2k more expensive will be left on the forecourt where something similar specced sans the electric pano roof is available.

It's like the amusingly priced Carbon fibre options. On a car weighing 2 tonnes, it makes no difference to performance.

And in terms of looks, I don't find the aesthetics of carbon fibre with some varnish slapped over it any more attractive than leather or aluminium or even Race-Tex, which are all cheaper and nicer to the touch.

I don't disagree with you at all....

But aren't you mulling over carbon wing mirror covers? :D
