Well done dear advertising agency.
The reason I decided to buy one second hand - the dealer in UK said the lead time for anything that is not RWD currently sits around 9-12 months."We make dreams come alive."
Hmm.... In my case it's just "We take deposits for dreams".Over a year waiting so far, no closer to the dream coming alive than when I put my first deposit now.
Agree, this ad is a bit embarrassing for Porsche. The ad makes the driver of the Taycan a douchebag.
Well done Porsche! ??![]()
Well, 9-12 months would have been fine by me. I'm already 13 months in, not even an allocation, even though I was given various estimates ranging from 6 to 12 months at first, now the dealers don't even care to return an email every 2 months checking on the status. The SA's probably figure by the time I get a car, they won' t be working there to collect the commission (already the case at 2 of the dealerships I am working with), so instead they spend all their efforts selling the few new and used cars they have sitting on their lots. The reason I decided to buy one second hand - the dealer in UK said the lead time for anything that is not RWD currently sits around 9-12 months.
Biggest selling model in the Porsche line-up is….…if EV's end up being abandoned orphans at the new independent Porsche.
No, but they can slow down investment in developing it further. Remember, Diess believed in BEV, so he prioritized it over ICE, canceling further ICE development but of course still producing existing designs. If the new guy believes in eFuels over EV's, he can cancel further EV development just the same.Biggest selling model in the Porsche line-up is….
Taycan
Do you really think they’re going to kill their biggest selling model just because the former CEO screwed up on software development?
Omg he nearly bored me into cancelling???Agree, this ad is a bit embarrassing for Porsche.
In contrast PHD did a fantastic job with the Mark Webber Sunshine Coast video:

how important is buying a brand new one? I looked for a while to find right specs and colour but and yes it’s not off the batch nutWell, 9-12 months would have been fine by me. Given VW just ousted Diess, electrification might be getting deprioritized as it aggravated a lot of the old timers at VW Group - unions (who have seats on boards) are worried their members producing ICE cars will get laid off, Porsche and Piech family (who control the VW group) worry about lost investments in ICE, etc. Diess' replacement (CEO of Porsche) is still thinking the new eFuels are the better way to go (see here). Only time will tell, but there is chance Porsche electrification and therefore VW/Porsche EV progress is going to take a hit, even more so if Porsche is spun off from VW.
Given all this, I might not get a Taycan for a while, or perhaps I won't want one by the time an allocation becomes available if EV's end up being abandoned orphans at the new independent Porsche.
Definitely drives more like the Swiss ad guy IRL!Omg he nearly bored me into cancelling???
what he needs is a camper van
Funny thing is he probably drives more like the first ad in real life ?
I got bored and turned it off before I got half way through this commercial, so perhaps not the greatest marketing tool. ?I think Porsche did a much better job with their GTS commercial / short movie:
(And that is not because I’m waiting for one)
