Hi, yes I would like to know if there are more similar situations. this scares me:(
I am not expert on this, but I am aware of 2 Taycan fires (3 now with your input).

1. Garage in Florida 3 years ago. Faulty charging equipment iirc.

2. Fatal one in China - after a crash.

3. Your link.

They passed the 100,000 build mark earlier this year.

So you make your own mind up whether to be scared or not*.

Do you own a Taycan by the way?

*if you do ever risk leaving the house, don't forget to wrap yourself in cotton wool.

It's very popular in the Tesla world for every single vehicle fire to be picked up by social and conventional media and exaggerated. In response there are some clear and robust statistics that show there are FAR fewer EV fires than ICE fires as a proportion of vehicles on the road. (There is some pushback that ICE vehicles tend to be older or stolen more, but let's not worry about that.).

It's also popular in social media for people to see something bad and post that they are going to cancel their order for a Taycan because there are "obviously" problems. If they have that reaction to a single fire of unknown cause in China, they don't deserve such a wonderful vehicle :)

Hi,Thank you for your answer, I have a taycan 4s. Since I have a lot of important documents in my car, I'm wondering whether I should take them with me.

You keep important documents in your car?

Also, how do you know there was no collision? Sure looks like left front damage and the fire is up front - batteries are underneath the floor of the car.

yeah, we shouldn't worry about facts or context. Let's also not worry about the missing context that when an ICE has a fire, it is far easier to put out that a thermal runaway in an EV. (note some Porsches have a fire extinguisher as an option - for a Tesla you would need a 10,000 gallons of water in the trunk to put out the fire)
