Is the feature exactly the same as ordering together with the car? I already have ACC

It doesn’t in the UK. Innodrive and ALK are charged for separately…

I am currently doing the trial of both features...there are soo many different opinions on this topic that I think it really depends by the roads where you are..

I am currently of the idea of buying the ALK option and don't do the innodrive...I just don't see much use for that on a highway and in UK using any of these options on other roads is equal to ask for a review of how the airbags work

Not for me as I don’t do enough motorway/freeway journeys to justify the cost. If you commute regularly on such roads it might be worth it. The FOD service lets you ‘try before you buy’ for 3 months so why not give it a go?

I'm happy with ALK, Innodrive didn't interest me.

That said, know that ALK isn't the same as Autopilot. Coming from a Tesla, I was kind of hoping that was the case, but it has nowhere near that level of autonomy.

I'm still pretty happy with it, though, because it does significantly reduce the strain of long, boring drives where there is no opportunity to have any fun.

I would echo all this (except the coming from a tesla part)

When I bought my 2022 CT, innodrive and ALK were only offered as a bundle (for $3500 iirc). I’ve since bought ALK by itself via FoD (in the 2022 valentine‘s day sale ?) and I’m very happy with it. Also not interested in innodrive.

I use Innodrive all the time and like it. Its main benefit is that it adjust speed limits legally (unlike Tesla) so when you get to the speed sign you are at the correct speed. Sometimes in the UK there is a speed camera at the sign. Innodrive includes a couple of additional safety features: anything which helps protect me from my errors of those of others is worth the money in my view.

Innodrive FOD is NOT the same as factory-fit Innodrive. We worked out in another thread what is missing if you don’t have the factory hardware. It might have been cross traffic detect or something, I can’t remember at the moment.

Two points. As far as I am aware, you can order ALK without Innodrive, hence appearing on the options list separately. But, Innodrive does include ALK.

Innodrive requires the radar which is only fitted if your base spec contains at least ACC. In my view, ACC is fabulous (and enhances safety) for motorway driving and so is a "must have". However, Innodrive I found to be a fussy and overcomplicated overlay on top of ACC, which can adapt to changing speed limits in any case.

ALK is a great nice-to-have and, if you can get it. So, ALK in conjunction with ACC is perfect. That said, if you specify each individually, you spend more than Innodrive, so you might as well buy Innodrive. I had that on my Taycan Turbo and simply enabled ACC & ALK in the PCM, but disabled Innodrive.

Final point. Of the three, ACC, ALK and Lane Change Assist (Blind spot monitoring), if I was to drop one it would be LCA. My recently purchased 911 has ACC & LCA. I'd happily swap LKA for ALK.

Innodrive FOD is NOT the same as factory-fit Innodrive.
i dug out my old posts on this from another forum:

The only “facts” I can find are this confusing mess from Porsche website:
“- This function requires adaptive cruise control in the vehicle.
- The range of functions of the Function on Demand Porsche InnoDrive does not fully correspond to the option Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control.
- For the best possible driving experience, it is recommended to additionally book the Function on Demand Active Lane Keeping.“

There is a detailed chart (in German) on this forum but it might be out of date: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/functions-on-demand-fod-innodrive-requirements.2130/

The following functions are mentioned in the factory configuration for Innodrive, but not mentioned in the Function On Demand. I don’t know whether the difference is intentional.

“- The Intersection Assist can warn the driver (visually, audibly and with a jolt of the brakes) if crossing or oncoming road users are overlooked at an intersection
- The Emergency Steer Assist can help the driver to steer the vehicle around an obstacle in a critical evasion maneuver”

I’ve never had to try emergency steer assist thankfully ? but the Intersection Assist is helpful and could save a life if you were inattentive at the wrong moment. There has been one occasion so far where it saw a potential hazard before I did.

You know if you have Intersection Assist because it puts big red “<<<<<“ symbols when you might pull out of a T-junction with someone approaching from the right (left for LHD vehicles), for example.

I assume Emergency Steering Assist is like this: https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/what-is-evasive-steering-assistance

I didn’t know these were part of Innodrive. Porsche do make this complicated!
