Brake Hose Recall: Porsche Dealer does not return car after service...

Are they required to provide same or better loaner? Or can they hold onto the car for an unspecified amount of time, or worse, start charging the customer for storing the vehicle?

Loaner policy is different. But worst case they can keep the car for a long time. They do not charge for storing the vehicle.

These major recalls are all funded from Porsche Germany. So any expenses the dealer has with the recall are refunded from Porsche.

They wanted to give me an ICE which I denied. No Taycans available anywhere in the country due to recall (and cars being hostaged at dealer...). Surprisingly after heavily complaining they found a base Taycan....never seen a car with less options . Will go biking next week and need car with preparation for Rear Bike Carrier. Let's see....

holding the car for a "safety" recall even when presented to service for a different service request sounds like a "german" road safety regulations issues - as noted this behavior varies regionally and is not universally the same world wide.

Yes it seems to be different in different countries. Maybe also between dealers in the same country. I have asked for information on the recall since early July, with the message that my car does not need any recall! It has been back after the service since my brakes have gone very soft twice since that and been released every time. Just yesterday I have been informed my brake hoses need replacing and the car is booked for September 25. Let’s see how that goes then. I get a loaner of some kind then, so if the parts are delayed I will not bring the loaner back to them.

Over here, my loaner always seems to be a Macan or a Cayenne. My prior two Porsche's were current-model 911's (991.1 then 991.2) and the most interesting loaner I ever got was a Cayenne GTS.

My car was towed to the dealer for an internal charger replacement which was faulty. Now dealer is not allowed to return the car until the brake hose replacement is done. Unfortunately the brake hoses are on backorder w/out delivery date.....
Any similar experiences?

Yes, same.here in Holland, one week at dealership for forst service after 1 year and 29000km all done serviced but no brakehoses.......cant get it back so just waiting it out in my mini countryman

They told me the last weeks they received 30 hoses, this week none.....

They took mine for something else and did the brake hose at the same time; I had to pay for collection and return. On return, the driver scuffed both alloys on one side of the car, so it has to go back for over a week (!) so they can repair them. They tried to fob me off with an ICE loaner until I put my foot down. We will get there in the end but the number of times this car has been back to the dealer is getting a bit high ….

That’s annoying. Which dealer? My taycan is booked for the recall in two weeks. I hope I get it back then and not have to wait for (more than) a week.

I suspect i had similar experience. Booked my GTS in for PCM update and PMCC issue. Expecting a 2 or 3 day loan car. was given a Turbo S (not impressed -will describe elsewhere) ended up being 3 weeks which I assume was due not being allowed to release my GTS without the brake hose recall being done.

Mine was in for something else when the recall popped up on my VIN. Initially they said they couldn’t give it back. But when they said the parts would be months, they were able to ‘perform an inspection’ then give it back to me.

Hoses finally arrived, work started immediately, as I left car until my return this weekend anyway. Will be driving for 2000km. next week so very happy.

get my car fix in Denmark , the frist they made , 2.5 hours and pcm Update 1.4 hours

there is over 300 on the list and they Can make 2-3 a days , and 3 weeks to get a repair time
And no parts , total kaos

Super weird, I got a phone call three weeks ago if I needed a loaner on Friday. My response was; do I have an appointment on Friday? And then they said, oh something must have gone wrong. By any chance, do you have time to bring your Taycan over on Friday for the recall? Long story short, I got mine three weeks ago on Friday ?
