Had the same angry question when it happened to me, set the profile to a minimum charge of less of the 85% and the set the timer for 85% and the time range. Let me know if this helps, enjoy your car
Well if this is the answer then no prizes for good digital design going to Porsche!

I feel like I’ve tried every combination possible and nothing’s worked but will give this one a go to make sure. Thanks

Do you use an EV tariff eg Intelligent Octopus or OVO Charge Anytime? The Enode API they use over writes the profile and timers you set and sometimes fails to communicate properly with the car causing a 100% charge. In your case this doesn't sound like your problem though

Nah, it’s just the direct charging from the street light charger. So the only way to control is the crappy Porsche app

Could you show the rest of the screen shots for your timers/preconditioning etc as well.

Either you have some setting that is not as in the settings others have posted or your car has some other settings than your app? Best would be shots of your car’s display.

Or your car’s software has developed some fault.

What you describe is not normal at all.

Hi @Scandinavian - Yes, see attached.
With these settings I’ve tried combinations of:
- Only time set and profile off
- Only profile set and time off
- Both time and profile on

all overshoot 85% and just keep going to 100%.

strangely last night (only profile on as attached), I work up about 6am and it was at 85% saying ‘Charging process complete’, I fell back to sleep and when I work up a few hours later it was at 100% (grrrr ?). I had’t touched anything between those two events.

Isn’t that timer for tomorrow? Flick on the “repeat” switch so it does the same thing every day of the week.

That’s just because it skips to the next day once the time has passed. I assume you it was on today overnight/when it was active.

I can put on the daily repeat, but why would that make any difference?

Many of us run the profile + repeating timer completely successfully. If you have the same exact setup we do, and your car behaves differently, it’s a good indicator that it needs a service trip. This charging implementation sucks and troubleshooting when there are issues takes forever. Sorry you have to deal with this.

Yeah, thanks, I think this discussion just proved how terrible the experience is. Everyone’s just guessing.

We’re practically at try leaving the passenger door open and turn the steering wheel to the right when charging.

why is the repeat button important if this is functioning correctly?

I may not want to repeat it. But if I set it to 85% for tonight then it should stop at 85% tonight. Regardless of what I set it to for completely different days.

It’s not a requirement for me. I often disable my repeat timer and add a 1 off timer. That continues to work fine for me. I suggest using the repeat to simplify troubleshooting.

there’s no explicable reason why this should work and what I shared doesn’t though, right? Unless the whole thing is simply a total mess.

Sounds logical! But I have found it does not always follow logic. The only thing I could think of here would be to reduce the profile setting to a lower setting say 70% and then set the timer at 85% for tomorrow at 07.00 .

I would also like to know how much power you get from your street lamp post. Maybe tha car has not got enough time unr´til 02.00 to charge all the way to 85%. And when the profile finally hits that it stops for a while and then it has no further instructions! Then it might well start again and just completely charge the battery. Not logical, I know but this is German engineering at its finest!

That is why I have had success with setting the timer on repeat
