Apologies if I missed it elsewhere (notably, this thread doesn't have the word "matrix" appear even once) - can this tune also turn on matrix headlight functionality for cars equipped with a matrix headlight who live in the US where the software is locked to perform as a standard high beam?
Please note matrix headlights are notoriously hard to certify in the US, so even if you could turn them on, you'd be running completely illegally;

Installed the tune today on my 24 4S. Install was straightforward from the video. Remove some screws, remove some trim, push in some wire harnesses and done. Probably 20 min to install and 15 to put things back.

This how the car should have been tuned from the factory.

Even if you aren’t a horsepower junkie and floor it all the time, the throttle response and torque is immediately noticeable.

I was honestly disappointed that the throttle response was worse than my old Mach E. Now it’s as good at low speeds and significantly better at high speeds.

Plus the power is all there from a stop without launch control. It also drives just as smoothly as stock, but faster.

Overall very happy.

My MY22 CT4 has been into Porsche service a lot this year, for recalls, battery checks, updates, 111 point warranty check and last week its 4 year service.

Hopefully that’s it for a while and as a follower of the @prj perfect tune threads, feels like now could be the time to pull the MAPEV trigger. ENET cable is on its way and I can borrow a windows laptop.

Seems that a CT4 is the most “tuneable” and while I appreciate the powertrain hardware is the same as a CT4S, @prj can I assume that the rest is going to cope?!

I’m primarily thinking of brakes, but I wonder if there are also other things that with so much extra performance might make a humble J1.1 CT4 underbraked and overcooked. I expect that you have taken such things into account, but feel I should ask.

I enjoy hearing these stories. I am not quite ready to jump on board simply because I rarely get to push it stock.

The CT4 and CT4S have the same exact brake discs and pads, the 4S calipers are red, the 4 calipers are black, that's the whole difference.

I don't think you are going to have any braking issues. It's still got 360mm rotors on the front, that's quite big, and of course the regen helps. Unless you go to a track and really beat the hell out of it, I don't think you will get the steel brakes to fade.

Essentially there are the steel brakes, PSCB and PCCB.

GTS has larger (390mm) front discs (but the same calipers) I believe.

Can't be same calipers with larger discs. Both are different, you are correct on the sizing though.
It uses Cayenne 390mm brake discs with part number 9Y0615301Q. Corrected the previous reply :)

How much windows laptop borrowing would be needed on top of downloading the mapev app and reading the current ASG to send data to get the process started?

I’m guessing it would be needed any time the asg is updated (e.g. OPD regen level), but would it also be needed other times time like to clear fault codes when the mapev asg arrives for install and/or if asg is swapped for dealer visits.

just trying to get an idea as I don’t have windows and borrowing a laptop would take a bit of are arranging each time.

If you're using Mac you can most likely use parallels with a USB adapter and tunnel it to the VM.

Haha, the one Apple device I don't have is a laptop, my computer is iMac which I could get to the car but it's a bit big! I can borrow a windows laptop, just not on demand as it would be my daughters (who doesn't live with us) work laptop, so an idea of how often it would be needed would be good. Although my wife has an old MacBook, maybe parallels on that is worth exploring

Just for the data upload. You don't really have to clear the codes after changing the ASG.

When the Windows machine for (MapEV Diag) was truly needed:
- Read/upload ASG info for ordering (as @prj mentioned)

Here are the numerous other times I used it (all of these are optional):
1. Read and clear fault codes
- for added piece-of-mind, cleared codes after swapping ASG module (though this may be unnecessary)
- while sound-insulating my front doors and disconnecting cables, it triggered an airbag system fault shown on the dash; MapEV Diag cleared the fault
2. with separate MapEV Flash program
- for testing OPD tune
- once more for re-flashing the original tune
3. ct14's useful battery test, which also uses the ENET cable: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...an-battery-diagnosis-for-the-community.27701/

Like you I have a iMac and no real PC in the house; luckily I had an old Intel Macbook Pro with Bootcamp and brought that back to life for this purpose.
