Playing movies on passenger screen?

Hey, I am getting my 4s in about 3 weeks and curious if the passenger screen can be re programmed to have movies stream for the passenger.

Let me know if there is a hack for that

There is a hack for the main screen, I dont know if it can be applied to the passenger, but logic would suggest that it could.

Getting Youtube or Screenshare of the smartphone would be awesome. No idea if thats possible though.

I ordered the Kufatec dongle beginning of January and it still hasn’t arrived. They are claiming it’s stuck in customs. If it ever comes I’ll let you know how it works.

I realize its not as cool, but much more straight forward to just use a iPad.

Yes, i posted in another conversation about it. It works well and allows you to watch video while driving on both the main and passenger screen

No. It's a code update device. You plug it into the OBD2 port, wait for it to upload the new code, and then you're done. I've been tempted to get one but based on my experience with our Tesla we generally never end up watching video in the car, plus in this case it's only off USB. Definitely worth it for anyone with Passenger Display who can see themselves watching video off USB though. It's ridiculous it won't just work that way stock given they already have a kill switch on the Passenger Display if no passenger is in seat.
