This was verified last yesteerday by a premier Porsche dealership who had heard it directly from Porsche NA.

It will be a sad loss indeed as I much prefer the ST (CT not so much due to the plastic cladding) and previously had a Panamera ST which was also discontinued.

I guess the sales numbers don't lie but would it not have been an option to drop either the CT or ST rather than both? I always expected one to be dropped as the market is already small and the difference between the CT & ST is primarily cosmetic and so being biased (and owned a GTS ST) towards the ST I had expected the CT to be dropped.

In essence this will either drive up the SUV numbers - Macan EV or Cayenne EV - if people need the extra load carrying flexibility.

Perhaps when the Taycan and Panamera merge (again quite similar cars in terms of proportion and accommodation) there will be an ST offering out of that - a long shot but who knows.

Ugh. Terrible, terrible decision.
Indeed. It was the Sport Turismo that brought us to Porsche. We didn't want the normal "I am a banker/golfer, look at me" shape Porsche that is so common.... and the Turismo is just amazing as a road trip car.

Presumably they will want to shift touring to the Cayenne, but it is a fat blob. Or we travel with less luggage...

Audi A6 AllRoad (EU / UK - Diesel or Hybrid) is the next choice if Volvo isn't. Not a fan of either (currently).

I've been down this road before with an 2005 Audi A6 Avant. Audi stopped shipping to U.S. for a decade due to low sales in the U.S. But sales continued in Europe. U.S. doesn't have a taste for wagons but the Europeans like wagons. I can understand the US, but i am surprised that the numbers are low in Europe.

It will be interesting to see if stopping production does anything for the existing CT's and ST's values over time, especially if the third party battery providers can mitigate long term concerns over battery/car lifespan/reliability.

Sad day... love my CT. Design shape (CT/ST) is outstanding so much better than the saloon.

well, I had CT4 almost four years, but i like more the shape of saloon 4S.
Otoh, front look and shapes of J1.1. Is/was much better than at J1.2 …but it’s just fir my eyes…

Speaking about luggage… it’s not big difference between CT and saloon, but sometimes i’m missing Gravel mode.[/QUOTE]

Porsche Taycan Porsche discontinues Cross Turismo variant in US IMG_4467
This is why we can’t have nice things people….shout out to my brothers and sisters around the world that supported the long roof movement though.

This vehicle format (wagon/estate) is sort of like democracy itself. In the past it was taken for granted that it would always be there. More recently we have all learned that it can only survive if we actively participate.

My glass is half empty on depreciation and given the latest tech update for MY27 (J1.3) announced this week already pushes existing J1.2 and J1.1s further into the long grass I can't see the discontinuation of models helping matters. These cars will be a fire sale bargain for someone for sure in years to come.

Ttunk access is the issue and on the saloon this is limited and reason why I went ST 2nd time around.
