Out of the blue this morning, chassis failure warning. May 25 CT4S with 5600km.

Porsche Taycan Active Ride failure 20251008_110155

Appeared as soon as I moved the car to reverse. I tried to drive a very short distance, but driving without sway bar is ... hum ... interesting. Gives an odd springy/bouncy feeling to the rear axle. Sort of drivable, but probably entertaining at freeway speeds.

Alert went away after power cycling, but came back immediately after moving again.
Comfort Entry active ride function not working, and chassis option greyed out in the car settings.

Late May, this was only the 2nd Active Ride car on the road in this country, the first one being a GT. So i expect it will be a while until i get my car back.

So the dealer techs are not certain yet they won't get away with a "reprogramming and calibration", which sounds beyond optimistic. But that's what the debug tree says, so follow they must.

Would have been good to use MapEV Diag to pull the faults.

So far I think most people on here with AR have had issues with it?

Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence for my car ...

first recorded instance of an Active Ride failure here, right? Ask them how much it would cost to repair out of warranty.

Not the first one for sure!

@kermit had a failure.
@Boss Hogg as well if I remember this correctly.
@Alemany as well.

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this. I’m awaiting build of a 26 4S with active ride. I had no idea it was such a unicorn. Hope yours gets resolved soon. Would love to know an update when you have a resolution.

I am 12-months in and 8,000 miles. Active Ride has been working fine.

It's not a unicorn, he has a flag similar to the US flag, but he is located in Asia, if you zoom in you can see it.

Glad to hear.

Just wondering whether rather than the Active Ride damper its the associated air spring that has gone. Not on a Taycan but had an air spring failure on a Range Rover and it went very bouncy. Also when you first move the car is uses the air springs while the Active Ride dampers power up

Anyone that has PAR should expect a failure. I'm not upgrading my car until a drive it for a few months to see if this failure happens. If it happens, I hope its sooner than later.

To your point, PAR uses a 1 chamber air suspension/2 valve damper . Non-PAR uses 2 chamber/2 Valve damper.
Not sure if its related to that

Sorry to hear!

I have a 2025 late May 4S CT with PAR. Currently got about 7K on the clock and it works just fine. It sure should stay that way!

I hope yours is just a control unit issue and will be back soon.

i am wondering now whether the replacement of what appears to be a faulty motor will resolve my other problems with my wiggly rear axle, duly noting that these symptoms are not unique to my car since both C&D and Motor1 reported the same on two different US press cars.

I get my Taycan 4 with RWS, PAR and AR end of December this year. Let's see if mine does that as well or not.
