Great on paper but since it is so new and overly complicated, the risk of failure is a given, until a few fail and then they make revisions and updates to it.

I just drove a Taycan Turbo S with Active Ride on the ATL PEC new West Track, yes, it is nice, super comfortable and sporty, but I would not be able to sleep at night having it on mine.

The old Air Suspension with PDCC seems to be a solid and does the job, although only lateral -- I will stick to that.

That's what the warranty is for. I would say that the J1.2 with the standard air suspension handles almost as well as my J1.1 Turbo S with PDCC did.

At least driving them back to back I did not really notice more lean on the J1.2. Whereas driving a J1.1 without the PDCC back to back, my Turbo S definitely felt flatter in corners.

Warranty yes, but waiting for a fix for months, not so much.
One of the owners had a VLC roof on his 2022 Taycan GTS, malfunctioned almost immediately, as it was new, and it took months to get the replacement, then a few more to actually replace.

Let's start the clock on this PAR fix and see how long that will take.

Luckily that's a LOT better here in Europe.

OBC I got fixed in 1 day, and most other stuff takes a week if the parts need to be ordered from Germany. My dealer is good in the way also that it prioritizes showstoppers.

If someone has a non-driveable car it goes to a higher priority.

J1.2 December 2024. Done 13k miles, only once it failed immediately upon hitting a pothole. I made it to the destination 0.5 miles further on without stopping (was worried about being stranded). Very bizarre bumpy ride for that stretch even on a smooth road. Upon restarting car, warning was gone, and has not come back after a few thousand miles. Still drives like a dream.

As anyone who has had a Range Rover can tell you, air springs do fail too as they get older.

They do, but the VAG/PAG air suspension is pretty solid, it is very rare that it fails in under ten years of age.

Usually issues start when the cars are 15+ years old and/or have done a lot of mileage, like 200k+.

Except it does not seem to be the pneumatic suspension strut, but the servo motor driving the hydraulic pump. PN PAD411881 SERVOMOTOR ACTIVE ELECTR. DAMPING CONTROL (COMPLETE) priced 2911 GBP on Eurospares.

Will confirm once i know what they ordered. By now, i am still in a war of attrition to get a replacement car. Three days and counting.

So three and half pedibus cum jambis days and one Oak Green Neo Macan 4 Electric later, theory confirmed, and part "should be" available within a week from Germany, once ordered after the importer's technical team give their consent.

So the fun begins.

They still haven't ordered the replacement servo motor, though recognized defective.
Because they want to ensure that it does not happen again.
How, go figure, and they will need a new servo anyway since the original one is fried. It is a very disarming approach.

Good thing that i had informed them in writing and early in my ownership of the wiggly traits of my rear axle, but i am not sure that it is going to sway their logic.
