Interestingly the US workshop campaign specifically references keeping customers mobile and provides instructions for the Dealer with regard to billing Porsche for up to five days of loan vehicle. UK apparently has to wait for a service loan, or walk. Not very good.

I had mine replaced in November and Porsche assist were initially reluctant to arrange a loan car (as that still meant sending AA out to confirm it was dead) but when I got Porsche GB involved they sorted the loan out. I think you just have to shout loud enough, and it has to die in the winter which seems likely?

I'm in the US. When my heater died, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get a loaner. If they don't got'em, they don't got'em. I didn't try making a stink with Porsche corporate.

Five week wait in January/February without a heater is unreasonable in my opinion, especially as the heater in question has only just been replaced...

Because all other things porsche are reasonable.

Software “fix” for hardware battery defects.

6+ months without functioning maps

3mins+ time to start Spotify

“OTA” updates that actually need to be done in service

“Continuous software support and updates” lies when launching the car

And it goes on and on and on

The fact that the “updated” heater has the exact same core issue as the old one is just another “reasonable” porsche thing

If passenger side works it's not the HV heater that is dead, but most likely one or more servo motors driving cooling/heating system related valves. I recently had both the HV heater and a couple servo motors replaced when my heat died completely. It's possible the valves failed first and I just didn't notice until HV heater died.

If you have an OBD2 tool, or the tcan pro for Ethernet scanning, you can scan the car for errors and see what failed.
You were right. Turned out to be one of the servo motors. Fortunately Leicester Porsche (who were very good; gave me a Taycan loaner) had one in stock. Replaced under (extended) warranty the same day and all good so far.

Porsche Taycan Another Heater ! IMG_4089

only just spotted this message in the My Porsche app. No other comms, not even a notification or email! Just happened to spot there was a message under my profile in the app.
MY24 GTS ST, 20k miles

I’ve had the air con compressor replaced previously but no heater issues before. Not actually experiencing any issues - so not sure if I might ignore. Bit fed up of taking it to the workshop!

Don't ignore, that means there's an active fault and it's a matter of "when" not "if", and that "when" is coming soon.

The shop should have all the parts in stock, then they'll do it in a day.

I’m curious whether this passenger heater malfunction would affect battery preheating/heating. If the heater is broken, does that also mean the battery won’t preheat?

If that's the case, then it's a really big problem!
Pre-heating battery will cost you extra charging time, perhaps some range. No heat in the cabin means no defrosting/defogging windows, much worse. It's considered a safety issues in more than one country.
