Build Feedback - Taycan GTS

Long time lurker and first time poster. Finally got an allocation for a Taycan GTS (early September lock date with expected delivery late Oct - Jan) and looking for feedback on my build.

Background/About Me: Live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will be mostly used as a daily family driver (have 2 kids < 10 otherwise, I'd probably be looking at a 911/718 instead). Being near the city, usually stuck in a lot of traffic but I like spirited driving on curvy roads or around tight bends. Don't expect to track the car. First time Porsche buyer. Currently drive a Lexus IS250 (2nd gen) so this will be quite a step up (ever since the Mission E was introduced, Taycan has been my dream car).

Items being pondered :

• RWS (I also drive a Subaru Ascent as my people mover so am use to larger vehicles)
• PDCC (unlikely to get)
• Debating on two wheel setup (after-market winter wheels/tires and summer tires in build) - I am debating how much I will drive this car in winters
• I have decided to go with the Tesla J1772 charger based on what I have been reading about the Porsche charger
• Getting the dash cam wiring - heard wiring is a pain after the fact vs. paying $150 now
• Question for those with tight garages - I have a double garage but with 2 single doors. Prefer to park car in garage instead of outside (especially for cold Canadian winters)
  • Narrowest spot (the garage door) is 2.36m - can you drive in/out with mirrors folded and/or have folks dared use park assist?

I too have double garage with single doors, but with only a 2.16m gap. I always garage my car and have no problem getting through that gap with mirrors folded (to help alignment, I put a wooden batten vertically along the centreline on the rear inside wall, plus I taped guidelines front to rear along the floor for each side) though depending on my diligence it can take a bit of back and forth to end up spot on. Of course, with perfect alignment I should have 1cm spare on either side if I kept my mirrors out, but I don't need to use them to get in so it's not a risk I need to take.

You probably are aware: summer tires are standard. All season tires are an option.
Canada's luxury tax - ugh!

You do not want to be on summer tires if temperature is below 40-45F; suggest you either spec all seasons or plan on a second set of wheels/tires, around $6-7k CDN

Build looks pretty good.
My only suggestion would be the interior, it's a little too black and needs a bit of contrast to lift it.
I would add the aluminium rhombus interior trim ($0 option), Sports Chrono Dial in chalk, and probably some white seatbelts as a nod to the outside colour (they look a bit crazy on the configurator, but IRL they are a bit more subdued).
B-Pillars in Race Tex is also a nice to have.

I have an 8 year older and a second one coming in Nov, so similar use case as you (also my first Porsche coming from AMG). Many ways to evaluate what you want inclusive of your budget. All good and see you around town maybe!

Agree, build is nice. You will be very pleased with your GTS, it is an imoressive machine!
I would definately add the race tex B-pillars and illuminated logo in the door sills. I am really happy with those details on my GTS. I also have the black leather interior (with carbon package) and it is dark, but I just love it - looks super propre.

Gloss black wiper in the rear window looks nice as does 'GTS' logo on the leather center console.

otherwise, nothing to add.

Thanks - I think I saw a post about this with the tape on the ground. 216 is cray - but I guess the surround view makes all the difference and it’s really just the mirrors that you have to watch out for.
Can guarantee my wife won’t be driving this car if she can’t get it out of the garage!

Yeah - I’m debating on two sets of wheels or just doing all-season. Even getting the tires to a shop to is probably a hassle.
Yeah - this luxury tax thing is a bummer - and on top of the increase in price too.

definitely don’t see a lot of Taycans here - we should organize a meet up! My kids are 10 and 7 -congrats on the new addition. Does the 8 year old keep kicking the back of the front seats? Seems like a general issue with performance sedans - their legs are just too short to bend over the seat and just dangle - was debating on the seat protector but can get that anywhere - and it’s a plastic back anyways

I’m a little torn on the all black - went to test drive one and it had full black interior and was pretty impressed but also like the additions you pointed out (and might up that budget). For the B-pillar in race-tex - do you find it gets worn easily / abused from getting in/out of the car?

The plastic B-pillars will inevitably get scratched. My race tex pillars show no sign of ware whatsoever, however the car is still new but I am not expecting them to scratch, weels very durable.

Don't forget that @mutanthands suggestion of adding the aluminium door panel trim is a zero cost option on a GTS. I also second their suggestion for contrasting seatbelts (maybe even red?).
My own B-pillar RaceTex trim is looking good after 12 months / 6000 miles.
If budget is constrained, I'd consider dropping RAS (and selecting the stand-alone PSP option)- I have RAS and I feel it does make a difference, but one that I think is generally overstated on this forum so not a must-have- the Taycan is not a barge without it, and no problem if you're used to vehicles of similar proportions.
