Burmester Amp Missing

SUPPOSEDLY the amps are arriving at dealerships in drips and drabs. 3 have been fitted and mine is next but what exactly this means is anyone's guess. Any kind of estimate would be helpful - I have now returned the ONTO car (assumed a week after it arrived at the dealer would be plenty) and driving the X5 into London everyday, costing £££. This sound system better be worth it!!

Fingers crossed for you dude! Although it does unfortunately highlight the possibility that Porsche are not handing the amps out in order of when cars were built with them missing. One user on here waiting 7 weeks, my car arriving a week before yours yet no news on mine.

But the fact they are coming through is great news and happy your Taycan delivery journey should be coming to a close.

Oh wow! I thought you were just referring to your own car. Thanks for the head up. I will speak to my dealer tomorrow and report back. I hope i get the same answer as you!

As a Burmester owner – it probably isn't. But the delays on Bose amps is the same – so you're even!

As a Burmester owner – it probably isn't.

Why?

My experience/opinion: I had a loaner last week with the Burmester, and while it was a bit better than the Bose (Taycan Bose is leagues above the other Porsche Bose), for the price I wouldn't spec it at all. I did however like that it makes it seem comes from earlevel. Did have to lower the top end as it was really sharp-sounding. A v-shaped sound if you will.

You were spot on! My dealer has just emailed to say the Burmester Amplifier is due to be delivered to them tomorrow. They will fit it on Monday during PDI. Porsche has allocated them 0.7 hours to fit and test the amplifier so hardly a big job. Thanks again and hopefully you'll be getting your car very soon too!

Soooo, another update.

The parts manager at my local dealer was with Porsche UK yesterday apparently and the update was:

"You are due an update this Friday on missing Taycan parts"

Slightly different and not as positive unfortunately.

So the plot thickens, as always haha!

I prefer GTS' feedback. Part comes tomorrow morning, half an hour to fit, collect tomorrow or Saturday (so long as finance people get their ass in gear).

Will this happen? I give it 20% based upon previous experience.

Agreed, much prefer the other version.

Agreed, my level of confidence in Porsche getting my car complete before end of May is about 5%. Bigger problems in the world and all that but it's an excitable purchase, that the shine has now nearly worn off on.
