This is one of my favorite posts ever! My favorite color is red, always has been. About 10 years ago, I was shopping for a 997.2 Carrera S. My local dealer had a GT Silver spec'd almost exactly like the way I would have spec'd, except for the color. Out of haste, I decided to take the one the dealer had. I never felt emotionally connected to the car the way I should have. That's not to say that I didn't love it, or even feel connected to it...I did. But it was never in the way that I SHOULD have. I got rid of it. I flirted with Mamba Green a bit for the Taycan but I realized I'd be setting myself up all over again. I will be getting Carmine Red when the 2022 allocations come out. Now the only decision is 4S or Turbo! I'm currently in the state of justifying why the Turbo is a smarter financial decision .well after owning black, white, silver and blue (BMW-M-Blue) cars in the past and mostly 'a version of black'. I have always thought that 'red' and 'yellow' are just begging for attention/tickets and those that just want to 'look at me'.
I can now say I am a 'convert' after reading all 13 pages of this post. This color 'carmine red' is simply emotional.....I don't quite know how else to explain it. It is not 'Ferrari-red' and not obnoxious! It is deep, lush and warming to my soul.
Incidentally, @TycanNewHampshire, I was up your neck of the woods (well, Stowe, so close enough) on vacation and driving my family around in our Buick Enclave. All I could think about on every road was, "this trip is going to be that much more fun when I come back in the Taycan". So pretty, so many fun twisties. Also solidified the pano roof on my spec so that I can mount roof rails.
