I just had my handover of my new Taycan Turbo (will post some pictures in another thread).
Just before I left (the car is staying for the detailer to collect), I noticed creases on the outside of the driver's seat base bolster:

I asked my sales guy about it and he brushed over it and said "yeah, they all do that". I don't think so myself. My Merc has 25K miles on it and doesn't look like that.
What do you guys think - do I need to kick up a fuss about this or is it normal? Particularly interested to hear @LukeManning 's take on this.

Is this a new car? They may be like that if car been driven a while especially is you are not careful getting in or out. In a new car- no way. Not normal seat is used for sure.

Steve,
Congrats on the new vehicle and condolences for the seat crease damping the delivery.
It does not look normal to me. Made me go check mine.

It appears something of weight has been sitting on the side seat bolster for some time. Not acceptable in my opinion. Never taken delivery of any car Porsche, Bmw etc... with any leather defect similar.

Maybe your detailer can do something. At the least your Porsche rep should stand up to help with something. I know it would be hard just to not accept delivery until they fix it to your satisfaction or get you a new seat or car.

Best of luck, the car is great fun as you will soon experience.

Having many Porsches including my Taycan I got yesterday I would say not way this is “normal”. The seat was poorly finished or maybe was used in another car at the factory and put in yours? The other possibility is something heavy was placed on the seat during transport causing the crease

Well as luck should have it (it didn't look this way earlier) the car is still at the dealer and will be for a week or so, since the detailers are now closed for Christmas. I didn't want to take it home until the detailing had been completed but the dealer wanted it invoiced I think!

You should not accept delivery unless they can 100% fix this, which probably means swapping out the seat. While Porsche leather will deform over time to some extent, leather in cars at this price point always will (which is why it's so important to keep a strict leather cleaning/conditioning regime), it should be flawless on delivery.

Have reported to the dealer and their reply is:
Please appreciate they are natural leather and our prone to creasing.
I will speak to our leather specialist and see what he can do in the first instance.
Will post back here with updates.
Thanks for the opinions everyone, it's always hard to know if I'm just being petty about stuff.

"they all do that"? I'm guessing the dealer already has your money. That's not a response from a good dealership.
I had no leather problems, but my dealer threw in the clear side markers for free and had them fixed on the spot on delivery day when I pointed out the mounting wasn't quite right. That's good service.
"They all do that" is bad service. That is dealer-speak for "we have your money, go pound sand"

Unfortunately I agree with @thenaimis . While yes, the leather will deform a bit over time it should 100% be perfect on delivery, no exceptions.

My seat is exactly like that. But after 1600 miles of driving...

It started early though. About 500 miles in

Weird, I had red 18-way seats on my panamera and never had that even after 20k miles, even with bolsters on pretty high. The side ones showed some wear, but never that bad and applying leather conditoner every 5k miles helped a lot.

same, I had red on my Panamera and I did75,000 miles in 3 years. It never went that bad but something I keep hearing is that the adaptive sport seats do this

I agree, I did that with a 30'' computer display in the past and it was heavy and left marks forever, so, either something sat there (other than human) or it's been damage during transport (example: someone siting there and not being careful with his work outfit) but this can't be factory, there a QC at the end of the process and it wouldn't have passed!
