So with great anticipation my new Taycan finally arrived a couple of weeks ago only to find that I couldnt login and that the car is in privacy mode. Cut a long story short only had the car a few days and it has been back with the dealer ever since as it need a new module. Just a bit staggered that on a 95 grand car this want tested either by Porsche in Germany or by the dealer in the UK who had the car and carried out pre delivery inspections prior to delivery. They have lent me a petrol car, which I have now had longer than my car. To be honest I wouldn't expect this from any new car let alone something as prestige as a Porsche and the overall experience so far isnt great

I was just about to reply saying my car has been communicating flawlessly with the My Porsche app since rolling off the factory line in August.
But, I checked the app just now and the map location and vehicle status are ~5-days outdated. My driveway/garage does have a weak cell signal for T-Mobile, which I think is the network they use in the USA for car comms. (Does anyone know for sure which cell network?)

Verizon per https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10204102-0001.pdf

Key step in troubleshooting no remote access: does PCM display LTE/datacom symbol in upper right?
Post with links to related info about no remote access: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...ssues-using-my-porsche-app.17709/#post-272507

Edited: The LTE symbol in upper right of PCM denotes that the car has cellular datacom link with Porsche online servers. That applies to 2020 - 2024 models.
It appears that 2025 Taycans display 4G (or 5G)? in PCM for datacom link instead of "LTE".

Thanks.
My upper right corner says 4G, but no other indication of LTE or 5G. In car data connection is useless with the music app not being able to connect Apple Music.
CarPlay apps / nav is fine because that's using my phone connection.

Anyone else with a 2025 seeing a problem with their in-car data connection?

I've got the same issue on my 2025. I see 4G in the upper right of the PCM. If I go to Settings / Connections / Data Connection Status (or something like that) it typically says 2-3 bars of Verizon. Cannot log in to MyPorsche account from the car, no Weather app or any other indication of connectivity. Porsche Connect support (PCNA) walked me through all the troubleshooting, told me that the issue has been escalated to Germany and they're making progress on it (?).

I suspect it's some kind of backend problem, because while I was still logged in (before the support rep had me try logging out ) the car was connecting to my home WiFi but the app still wasn't updating my position, SOC etc.

Estimate they'll know more early this week. I'll let you know what they tell me.

@roger-on-taycan and @trycan: I edited my post above. "LTE" symbol applies to 2020 - 2024 Taycans. If your 25 models display 4G (or 5G?) in PCM, that likely indicates that your car does have cellular datacom link with Porsche servers online.
The PCM symbol for inoperable cellular data link in 20-24 models is two horizontal parallel lines with a slash through them. Not sure if that is used in 25 Taycans, or not.

@Boss Hogg can you confirm what PCM symbols in 2025 Taycan are used to indicate working cellular datacom link and inoperable link? Must have changed from LTE and parallel lines with slash used in earlier model years.

I had the same issue where the app stopped connecting to the car on 10/19 (though it kept saying up-to-date). The car went into the dealer for something (unrelated?) where they had to replace the GPS antenna when the car was intermittently complaining about "Emergency call function error."

Porsche got back to me and had me do a factory reset, but then I couldn't log in again. A few days later they said my password was too long (15 characters), but changing it to something shorter did not help. I'm still waiting for them to follow up.

I have the 4G symbol in the right-hand column.

I do see the two-lines-slashed-through briefly when I get into the car and it pops up the setup assistant (every time now, sigh), but some time after I exit out of that it gets replaced by a 4G.

Does the PCM reboot on every key cycle, or should I try that as a troubleshooting step?

I wonder if the switch from LTE to 4G/5G is something in preparation for OTA to become a real thing? Like we are stuck in the middle of some configuration changeover, and the 2025s are expecting 4G before the carriers are setup to deliver it?

the car was connecting to my home WiFi
Huh? 2025 Taycans have the option to connect to a WiFi access point for internet access?!? For pre-2024 Tyacans this was an option exclusively available in Russia. Everywhere else Porsche blocked it (presumably in order to drive their own LTE subscription revenue).

@trycan Could you describe the specifics of the problem?
When you attempt to connect to your car with the app, does the connection/remote functionality work?
Do you see any errors on the app?
In the Taycan, does the PCM show 4G in upper right or is there a symbol with two horizontal parallel lines with a slash through it?

The app says vehicle status is updated, but it actually is not. Pulling down to refresh was just spinning and spinning yesterday, but today it shows "Just updated" almost immediately.
This an L2 charging location I was at almost a week ago (note timestamp). It is not my house.
Pressing remote lock/unlock just shows a spinning circle and car does not receive the message.

This functionality was working fine until October 30.

In-Car has no data connection (media, weather, etc).
4G is on the display, and also the WiFi icon because this pic was taken from my garage. When out on the road, it displays only 4G. I have not noticed the two horizontal lines with a slash through it, and only error message from in-car is "No data connection can be established right now". Car drives fine and carplay works like I would expect.

This is basically my experience. I did a factory reset as requested by a customer service rep, but now I can’t login at all. They’ve escalated my case to Germany they said. So maybe something in their backend is screwy.

Don't do a factory reset to fix no cellular datacom. It does not fix the problem and you then cannot login to the car.

If the car has no cellular data connection to Porsche servers, see info and tips linked in post 3 above.

Cause for no cellular data connection can range from no/weak local cell service, problem with Porsche back-end servers, car software, to car hardware.

See the list of possible troubleshooting tips.

Often, waiting for a couple days results in connection being restored.
