Opening tomorrow in Pleasanton CA- 350kw chargers- no idea at this point how good they are , the cost etc... will provide an update when I charge there- unless one of the forum members beats me to it... - update - if you look at the pictures closely it says electrify america on the chargers... don't know if that means its a standard EA station or if you need a Costco card and an EA account to charge there....

I've had excellent luck with the uni-corn (uni-cord) EA Fast chargers…

That sounds promising. I would have to believe Costco would be more competitive on cost per kWh or at least I hope so.

Being Costco, do you have to charge in 100kWh increments? (Sorry, couldn't resist...)
yes but due to their excellent return policy you can return the unused portion for a full refund.

Save the receipt!

So the branding here looks like the EVolve NY state network, where Costco or EVolve NY is prominently featured at the top, then Powered By EA gets a distant second billing at the bottom.
EA's reputation at those NY state network locations is actually quite good, since apparently it has a different team for support, maintenance, repair.

By contrast, here are some articles on a different Costco initiative:

This is the kind of good news we are want (and need) that additional commercial retailers are getting into the act. Thanks for the shares.

I just hit one of the EA stations at Costco yesterday. I didn't realize it was a Costco until I pulled in. Ending up making an ad hoc grocery run. The car averaged 170 kW/hour. It charged so fast (on my 2025) that it went from 23% to 94% by the time I dashed in for just a few things. EV charging was right near the entrance. I'll definitely be back.

This is definitely progress! My area is so inundated with EV's now that Costco gas lines are non existent. I think even if they put like 30 chargers at my local Costco's they would still all be taken. Would still love to see them, I know the Ikea close-ish to me put up EV's and Tesla chargers recently, so slowly but surely.

The Costco I went to had six chargers. There was a queue almost all the time I was there. I was definitely thinking that six was not enough for such a huge store.

I wonder if they have a 3 megawatt feed to power them all at 350kw.

typically no they do not - onsite batteries let the 350 kW DC chargers reach 'peak' performance - once the batteries are depleted the charger's power is reduced to match the what ever the grid can "feed" the chargers - batteries are charged off hours and managed…given that all EV's at the moment have taper curves - none of these chargers are expected to output max power for an entire session…they only have to output max power for the duration of the vehicle's taper curve…batteries fill in the difference between what the local site's feed can manage and the peak demand for what EV is demanding at the moment…
