That's not really an excuse... The UI software team is a completely different team than the performance team. There is no reason to have bad software.
Then the UI software team is incredibly overpaid. They’re obviously not paid on performance or customer satisfaction…

Sometimes the seat goes back to my position but most of the time I try to enter the vehicle after my petite wife drives it I find myself wedged between the seat & the roof, contorting my body to reach for the seat selector.
You've got the preset buttons on the door - you can adjust the seat to your own settings before even getting in.

Yes, the buttons work but the vehicle is supposed to recognize the driver assigned to the specific key fob. Sometimes it does but many times it doesn’t. The car always unlocks when I get close but the driver settings usually stays the same as whomever drove it last. At first we thought it was happening when we both were in the car and both key fobs were close to the car to confuse it but we put the key fob not being used in a faraday pouch and the car still would not recognize the specific key fob/driver settings.
Not a big deal but just annoying when I assume it made the adjustment to the seat but realize I can’t get in and have to push the button on the driver’s door to manually put the seat in the correct position.

I've noticed this behaviour on mine now, before all doors would unlock when I approached the car, now only the driver's side unlocks, and I have to either press the unlock button on the door or fumble around with the fob. Can this be changed back? It's very annoying when passengers are trying to get in, I've had people comment that there 10-year-old ice cars do this automatically: p

I’m not impressed with the high tech electronics team. They can’t seem to compete with even 10 year old technology. Porsche knows everything about engines, transmissions, suspensions & body sculpting to perfection but electronics seems to be too complicated for them to deliver just the basics. Sooner or later I believe they will figure it out but it surprises me Porsche would be so terrible at high tech…

As a former Tesla owner as much as I did not bond with that car the software implementation was very good, including the frequency of OTA updates an application to older vehicles. Porsche are not a software company, but they are now in a space where the software is as important as the driving dynamics of the car.

EV depreciation is already really high, completely ignoring older generation vehicles will only hurt them in the long run especially at the price-point they operate at.

That's strange, I'm also curious also because my remote unlocking as you approach the car suddenly stopped working yesterday and I can't figure out how to activate it again. I have to physically press the unlock button on the key now (not a major hassle I know :) ).
Do you have the Comfort Opening paid for option?

PCM settings under Car unlocking.

In Europe – at least – its related to how the economy/range figures are set. They have to be captured by a car driving in its default just-switched-on state.
I’m still annoyed that you can’t select vehicle preferences to be default for the car or specific to each driver. Drive mode always defaults back to normal. Every time you get in the vehicle it goes back to normal. I have to select “range” every time along with recuperation. Why something so simple cannot be saved in settings is just silly.
The car doesn’t recognize each of the two key fobs & the driver settings associated with each one.
Sometimes the seat goes back to my position but most of the time I try to enter the vehicle after my petite wife drives it I find myself wedged between the seat & the roof, contorting my body to reach for the seat selector. My Taycan is not very bright but she is gorgeous so I just grin & bare it…
Did you try using the memory buttons on the driver's door per key to save the settings?

Do you have a primary and secondary user defined and login per that user & key combination? Only needs doing once but ensure you lock the car with the specific key just associated and programmed.

Owner's manual should help here unless you've been through it already. Next stop is a warranty repair.

I do not think this is some regulations, rather a poor Porsche implementation. Our BMW i4 will start up in the settings you used the last time.

If it was in comfort drive it will do that.
If it was in an individual mode it will start there.

Not sure where this rumour comes from??
Ideed. Wife's car, also an i4, keeps drive mode setting, so this must be deliberate by BMW. Silly that Porsche can't do this right.

Yes I do and it was working fine then suddenly stopped. Nothing happens when I go near the car. I can see 'vehicle locking system' in pcm settings but there is no option for Comfort Opening?

Tap Car then Comfort and Comfort Entry is listed there (toggle on / off)

Tap ... the Vehicle Settings then Vehicle Locking Systemand then there are various options listed including Comfort Access and Advanced Comfort Access. Explore Door Unlocking too.

Well now I'm totally confused, thank you so much for the guidance but that option is now not available in my car. I just searched for 'Comfort Entry' and the result says 'Comfort Entry not available'? It definitely was working a few days ago.. I think a trip to the dealer might be on the cards to resolve unless anyone knows why this has happened ?
