Do I need ventilated seats?

Building a GTS - Gentian Blue with black leather interior.

I'm in the SF Bay Area.

I'm waffling on the ventilated seats on my build. I rarely if ever use the seat fan in my SUV.

What do the Bay Area locals think? Necessary or not in the Taycan?

Ventilated seats are a must have option for me, I use them all the time. They're especially great on any kind of trip.

I live 1000 miles north of you and use my ventilated seats on a daily basis in the summer.

TBH it's one of those features that you don't think you'll need but after regular use you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

WIth the porsche app you can also turn it on before you get into the car, so on a hot summer day it's a nice surprise to sit down on cooled seats.

I have them in my car and use them all the time, go for the heated steering wheel as well.

I didn't spec ventilated seats, but I actually don't really like how it feels. Also I typically don't find I really need it, unless I was just doing strenuous activity on a hot day. If it's just hot out, usually the AC is sufficient for me

I'll add that with the race-tex interior, I've found that the the ventilation wasn't as needed as in a leather interior. That's including long road trips with multiple hours in the car where I'd normally get a sweaty back on a leather seat.

100% agree with you here. I thought ventilated seats were useless until i decide turn them on in my wife’s cayenne on my way back from a run… blissful. Not a « must » in any kind of way but worth optioning IMO.

Porsche sells wants - not needs. With that said, get the ventilated seats.

No more efficient way to hot box car

Not a need, might not miss, but you will want the more you have a chance to use. If in budget, spec unless it would keep you from picking a better option.

Yes, absolutely. I’m in the Bay Area as well and on those hot days, it’s essential. I no longer sweat on the seat and it just a big help to keep cool in general.

Compared to other cars, these fans suck and don't blow on the back. That's why they are indispensable for me

I’m looking at a GTS and have been waffling between the Race-Tex and leather. I’d prefer the Race-Tex but my understanding is that ventilated and heated seats are not possible with that option. On a different thread a GTS owner swears they have Race-Tex AND ventilated seats. Can you confirm this is an option? On the configurator it specifically notates removing the heated and ventilated seats when switching from leather to Race-Tex. Any help is greatly appreciated
