Does anyone actually use launch control?

What versions do you have? On the CT4 I’m not sure I noticed much difference (will test it again). Accelerating hard from a stop is the one time the 4 feels a bit underwhelming versus my old Tesla, although to be honest I rarely do it….

Given that Porsche purposefully handicaps the CT4 Launch control to feel stupidly slow so buyers will want to get 4S, it is a pretty pointless exercise on something like that.

But then punch it while in Sport+ when doing over 30-40mph and feels just as fast as the 4S, and almost as quick as the M3P. Even my wife wondered why launch control felt so underwhelming when it feels fast everywhere else.

I have done it two times. Both times were to get a reaction out of friends. Trust me when I say the Turbo S got a huge reaction.

I use it once in a while when I'm on a quiet road. Wholly agree that it should be available on-demand, even if there's a cooldown period between uses. That'll make it much more practical in terms of tapping the extra power.

I do use it - not all the time but when I need some excitement in my life and want it make my wife giggle like a school girl I use it..

I will definitely try launch once to see what all the fuss is about but it will be difficult round here to find a suitable place to do so.

That's a great point. I benefit from living in a place with zero speed cameras, few police and not very busy roads.
After leaving the UK over 20 years ago, I'm always shocked at how many of the above there are when I visit

I'm planning on using it on the way home from work today. All this talk has got me in the mood.

I'm used to quick accelerating motorcycles, but honestly, it's really not that difficult to use/handle.

I also have no clue where I would try it. North NJ isn't exactly a wide open space.

I guess a quiet, residential road would be the only option. Just have to watch out for wild Karens.

Totally pointless feature.
The power should be available all the time. And should only be reduced when the temperature of the motor, invertor or battery is too high.
