Does "My Porsche" App for Taycan need "Porsche Connect" subscription to work?

How does the My Porsche app on my mobile connect to the Taycan? Using cellular data or Wi-Fi? What service?Can I continue to use the My Porsche App without subscribing the Porsche Connect service?
I now inside the car, my phone can communicate with the Taycan via Bluetooth. What is the " TaycanXXX Wi-Fi" when I am inside the car on the phone's Wi-Fi screen all about?
